Second quest question

Alright, so I finally beat TLoZ today, and at the end of the credits it said something like "Another quest will start from here. Press start." So I did. Is this the second quest that everyone's always talking about? Because for some reason I remember that you have to enter ZELDA as your name or something...

Oh, and same question for AoL, too. Is there a second quest for this game? The second palace is different from what I remember...

Second quest can be played after beating LoZ. They just that added 'ZELDA' for players who just want to play second quest right away. If you notice that the items you get in dungeons have switched, or that the dungeon order has changed, then you know that it is second quest.

As for AoL, I don't think there is.

Yea, I don't think there is a second quest for AoL.

The dungeons are all the same and what not. Either that or the changes are too minuscule.

If I remember right, though, you do start out the game after you've beaten it with everything from the previous game. So the palaces obviously have been beefed up.

Oh, ok...that might have been it. There are some enemies I don't remember seeing in certain palaces.

After you beaten AoL, your file will have a Triforce mark. Playing that file again will start you with all of your spells including sword technique, and all of your upgrades from experience points. However, your Life & Magic containers you will have to get again, as well as dungeon items.

Yea, that's what it is. I haven't played a beaten AoL file in a while now.

The 2nd quest is playing through the game again. But the levels are in harder to find places and some of the treasures as well. However you can access it early by naming yourself ZELDA.

On topic, there is a Second Quest for LOZ. It is similar to the OOT Master Quest. Identical, but rearranged, I believe. Finish the game once, and you unlock it. However, if you wish to begin a file on the Second Quest immediately without finishing the original, just name a file ZELDA. It'll start you in the Second Quest. Personally, I prefer to finish the First Quest first.
And no, if I remember correctly, TAOL lacks a Second Quest.

In any case, you can try to compare the second quest to OOT: Master Quest. Dungeons are switched around, enemies and items in different places, etc. It was somewhat of the industry standard in those early games to offer a second adventure if you defeated the first. I know one of my very old Mario games for Game Boy did that.

I always wondered that, two more questions:

I have like 63 Deaths/Saves on my file (currently trying to beat very last temple), Will my next file start with 63 or will it go back to zero?

And, what happens when you complete the "second" quest, a third quest? Or it restart a second quest again?

Yea but the second quest is annoying you had a hard enough time finding the first dungeon.Then they switch it up on you.That game needs a map.

For TAoL, I think it restarts it to zero. For LoZ, I believe it keeps your death count for the second quest.

I understand you perfectly. It might help to map the place as you, which REALLY helped me. Well, I didn't really map it...I was just writing everything that I was doing, then as I went on I was able to notice how the rooms were linked and stuff.
