Most Epic Boss Battles

While it can be difficult to consider the boss battles from the first three games epic, some of them were quite spectacular in their own right. What is your favorite? Do you feel that it truly had the feeling of being an epic struggle to defeat the evil in the boss, or was it just another run in the park to kill a baddie?

Personally, I prefer the first battle against Agahnim. It feels like a race against time to save Zelda.

I agree. Agahnim is probably my all-time-favorite of boss battles.

A Link to the Past is also my favorite Zelda game.

I personally perfer the second battle against Agahnim, more of them to kill. i also enjoy shooting his beam and his clone's beam at him in one shot.

Stallord, It surpassed my previous fave Goht. I like the face pace from the travelling during these two boss fights.

My Miniboss fave is still Dark Link using only the sword in OoT.

Agahnim's first battle had a wonderful set-up, but Agahnim was always a disappointing pushover for me.

The fights with Mothula, Blind, Kholdstare, Vitreous, and Ganon all stand out to me because they were intense battles against bosses I found to be rather unique.

Both Agahnim fights because it introduced me to the ping pong effect, those 6 blue knights, the swamp dude when he has no balls on him, Ganon.

Dark Link, Barinade, Phantom Ganon, Bongo Bongo from Ocarina of Time. These are fast paced fights, the rest are kind of slow.

The battle against Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda is awesome.

I think the Iron Knuckle riding a horse in AoL was pretty epic for its time. Link is in a dark palace, and then suddenly, a huge, armored knight on an armored horse appears and tries to run him down. Pretty cool.

I also think that the 2nd Agahnim fight and the Ganon fight were great.

Fighting against Phantom Ganon was awesome!

I wish it could have lasted longer...

Ganon in OoT... I was upset that he was human Ganondorf instead of the pig Ganon... but when he transformed in the end... it was epic... I think the music and the fight was the best of all in the whole series... I liked how you could barely see his face, except for the glow of his eyes, and the music made me feel like I was in the battle myself... It was spectacular

Ganon in LoZ...something very epic about that battle....

There is no doubt that when it comes to epicness, the greatest boss is the Dark Dream of the Wind Fish in LA.

The thing transforms like 8 times into various enemies, and you have to keep adjusting your strategy to keep up. How awesome is that?

If you mean Gyorg, the Shark in MM; then I'm gonna slap myself in the head for forgetting that. I think that stands as one of the most difficult LoZ bosses ever.

I think in AoL when you go from fighting Thunderbird to the battle with Dark Link, that has a significantly epic feel to it. The game is hard enough as it is but this ending battle sequence is rather sick!

Hmm Ganon battle was quite epic in my opinion. I just didnt expect him to turn into that at the end of the game. Perfect end boss to what could quite be the bext Zelda ever.

That's the most epic battle for me, too. The music is quite fitting.

Just to point this out; the topic's supposed to be about epic boss battles from the first three games, not the entire series.

Am I the only one who thought that the Lanmolas battle in ALttP was kinda epic?

I'm just going by childhood memories here. When I was very young, those dang worm things took me several months to defeat, especially since I found the dungeon back then to be really difficult.

Now a' days, I'd say that ALttP Ganon was epic.
