Second Quest Hidden Message?

I was looking at the maps for the dungeons for the "Second Quest" in the Legend of Zelda, and found something interesting. When looking at the shapes the rooms in the dungeon formed, it looks something like: E (1st dungeon), A (2nd dungeon), 'L (3rd dungeon), D (4th dungeon), and finally Z (5th dungeon). Rearranged, it spells out Zelda with an apostrophe. The rest of the dungeons don't look like letters after the 5th.
The 9th dungeon to me looks like Ganon's skull.
I found this on a Zelda Map site (Mike's RPG Center). Am I just crazy?

I'm pretty sure that they're still supposed to resemble animals and stuff, like the Lion Labyrinth resembles a lion.....

I don't think the second quest dungeons were supposed to be animals.

Yeah, the dungeons from the first quest resemble animals and other things, the several of the dungeons from the second quest really do spell out "ZELDA."

I knew about the Zelda name spelling already. I guess they could not think of a longer word so they switched over to enemy drawing.

In the BS Zelda game, the dungeon maps spell the words: "St. GIGA" in the first quest and "NINTENDO" in the second quest. (St. Giga was the satellite system, that broadcasted the games.)

Also, in Link's Awakening and Oracles the dungeon maps represent certain figures, mostly fitting the theme of the dungeons, basically like the dungeons in the 1st Quest of TLoZ. For example the Face Shrine looks like a Face or the Tail Cave like Moldorm.


So, this kind of easter egg is a pretty common thing in older Zelda games.

yeah it was pretty obvious that the LoZ Second Quest dungeons spell out ZELDA but i didnt know that about BS Zelda...hmmmm...says I

I have the guide for the collector's edition that covers all of the games and I never noticed that in the maps! That's pretty cool.
