they will not change color. but do the same effect of making you lose less health.

I don't remember tunics changing color in the original.... but yeah, what Crownjo said.

Well I'm hoping that you will have a happy birthday HeroOfShadows. And wow, it might be released on Christmas morning? That's quite early, are you sure about that?

I agree with goron. Is it that possable to have playable multi for Christmas? I bet once you have a video of it. Game sites are gonna go crazy.

I think to have it fully done it might take a year. But with the tools you have it might not be that long.

I think you should do some, ahem, 'creative editing', and change the upgrade tunics and such to bracelets that the links would wear on their wrists.

Great idea! and it's nice to see you on the forums again. I want to remind everyone, the Rom I am releasing on christmas is an ENTIRELY seperate project I thought of after messing around with some of the tools at my disposal. The multiplayer rom will still take a little bit of time. i didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up. You must have misunderstood. It is not an advanced project, maybe an hours worth of work tops, but I am a VERY lazy person. It is meant more or less as a small gift to everyone for your continued support, since I haven't gotten anywhere with multiplayer for a while. I guess i kinda feel bad cause I'm not giving you guys anything except an interesting topic to chat about. Still, that is not the reason for making the "gift" rom. I'm doing it in the spirit of christmas, or whatever other holiday someone might celebrate. I really want to get these ideas going somewhere, but I'm still learning how to use my tools. Then I'll need to decompile the rom, and figure out how and the heck to copy the link sprite. This idea does sound similar to something I heard in OoT. Maybe I'll check it out, and try to compare the two.

Thank you, GM. I always feel kinda bad, because I'm always more excited about my b-day(the day before christmas!!!) than christmas itself. I guess it was the whole, now you can do stuff you couldn't before cause you are older. But this year, It's christmas all the way! I guess i just caught the holiday spirit.

It is fun, and fairly simple, depending on what you are doing. Most hacks are easy and involve only using tools to make the game look or run different (mainly map mods). Some, such as our very own multiplayer project, require extensive research and require you to learn the language the game was written in to make your changes. To anyone who is thinking of taking up rom hacking, I fully recomend it. It is a wonderfull hobby.

Also, another quick poll, Favorite color. I won't tell you why, but it is important. Mine is blue. HA! I laugh at all of you because my fav is winning! No seriously though, it would be nice to know this for a particular color change. Thanks for participating!

Start by googling tools for your particular rom file(either specific, or just the system in general). From there, its just playing around with the tools. For LTTP, i've been playing with Hyrule Magic. It is a lot of fun. I hope you can get something going!

As previously mentioned in this thread, I started with the original LoZ. as far as tools go, I used Ztech, a rom specific editor. It is a simple place to begin. Good Luck!

Yeah, i did go inactive for a while. I was thinking about the ideas i had for the original LoZ we started with, then I remembered I had decided to switch the project. I expected the thread to have died, but thanks to primarily crownjo and the goron moron, it was still here and I can just jump back in where I left of. Hopefully, this will be a success. I've programmed a few new applications and learned ASM, so I'm confident i can do this, but the only way to find out is to keep moving forward. The gift rom (that i took a break to make) is almost finished. I'll do a quick run through tonight to see if I missed anything. Will I be able to upload the file on ZU or will I have to post it somewhere else and put the link here?

I want to thank everyone for using my Sig name(and capitalizing the "S"). It's catchy, isn't it? lol. I will try to have something on the multihack going soon. Anyway, I'll check the forums one last time before bed. I'll tally the color votes tomorrow and make my final color changes, based on the first and second places. not that it matters, cause there are only two colors right now. We'll just see where this goes.

Well, that depends. I've noticed there are several colors in the game you can't change, which means whoever programmed HM couldn't or didn't find their color pallettes. Adding extra links to the game wouldn't necessarily mean you can change all of them. I will have to change their colors away from the default, which means redirecting them to another pallette location. When I know where I'm going with that, I'll let you know what changes what, so you can change the colors yourself. I feel I should remind you that the colors i posted were just rough attempts. Nothing is set in stone yet, and even then I want to allow players to choose their own colors. Send me a pic of your red, and I'll see if I can make mine look better. I will redo the colors I posted, as well as some others, now that I'm better with HM, but I don't want to send the image that I'm just ****ing with color changes. I already don't have anything to show for the multihack yet, and I noticed a lot of people stopped posting. I will finish this!! Also, the gift rom is almost complete. I need to change like, one or two more things with it, and Huzzah! it will be done. I still need help on how to post it though, PLEASE.
