Me too I played Every Zelda and then AoL and I thought it was a breath of fresh air and thus my favorite Zelda.

I can see why people would be angry, getting AoL after the epic LoZ, but I don't know about death threats. If there were, of course, I'd love to see the letters.

I don't know how you get a death threat applies to the entire company? But I would say AoL was a pretty Fair game for it's time, Zelda wasn't doing as well as Mario, even though Zelda was close, the most Logical reason they changed the view of AoL is because they thought Mario was doing so much better because of it. It turns out people just like Italian plumbers running around jumping on turtles.

I personaly realy didn't like AoL. Not just bcause it was so different, although I wasn't big on the RPG gamplay. Mainly I think they could have done it much better (ie: a sword longer hen 3 pixels). But I don't see how anyone could seriously send a death threat just because of that. Mayby if the series was bigger (like now, VoD), but even then I couldn't anyone being that upset, let alone after only 1 game had been released. There have been countless other games which have taken a huge turn which people did not like and nothing like that happened.

It wouldn't surprise me. Recall that Hideo Kojima said he got death threats simply for contemplating that someone else should direct MGS4. Some people need lives I guess.

Highly unlikely. Even if they did, it's not like they were serious, because Nintendo is still around and doing fine.
