best time in ALTTP?

I just beat ALTTP in exactly 5 hours, with all Heart containers and Items, and bombs and Arrows Maxed out thanks to Venus queen of the faires^_^

I didn't save during the whole game except for when I fought with Ganon,I used plenty of faires but I never actually died^_^

Ganon was beaten 1 minute before the 5 hour mark

as anyone done the same?

has anyone done better?

I finished the game within 3 days with everything but I took no notice of how long it had taken to complete. I had to have a break man, I couldn't do it straight through in one session.

Just a pure speed run, like, ~1:36 (1 hour 36 minutes; a record, but I never recorded it ) and 2:04 (2 hours 4 minutes) 100%.

Also, Speed Demos Archive - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

Like I said before, I can't complete a game in one sitting, especially not that fast, too stressful....

I usually takes me two days to 100% complete. Of coarse, it isn't two full days. I have other things going on. Plus, my friend borrowed my actual cart, so I have to play it on the computer, which can get soar after a couple hours.

I can make it through without potions (finally) and only die against Blind the Thief. Unfortunately, ALttP counts using fairies as deaths for some reason, so my file always says other wise (though it doesn't get much higher than ten).

Anyway, sorry for getting off topic, but this is my favorite Zelda game.

when I beat my game{which was an snes cartridge} I used plenty of faires to revive me after I died and the number I got at the end was 1

so that means I died 1 time according to the game? I think it means I only used 1 life cause I never technically died

That's weird, since it gives me a lot, even though I only died once. When it splits it up by dungeon, I see a one or two in the early dungeons when I only used fairies. Then again, I think I accidentally downloaded the PAL version instead of the US version. I doubt that would make a difference, though.

How do people have the time and patience to sit down for a full five hours and play a singe game through?

I'll never understand this world.

Easy. I don't have anything better to do. If I'm not hanging out with my friends, then I am playing video games all day.

Then again, I can also lay down on the couch instead of sitting on it.

(P.S. 800th post!)

I'd be interested to try a speed run, though I never seem to have the time for it. Weekdays I'm home from college at 5:30PM and have to eat, work, some days see my girlfriend, bath all in the space of 6/7 hours.

Maybe in the holidays?

My fastest completion of it must be pretty awful, I can only play Zelda over separate days as I enjoy it more that way.

Easily under 10 hours getting all the items and not dying, but I never tried a speed run.

I assume I can get under the 5 hour mark though, I would probably just have to play a couple times to figure out how.

I think playing a game just to beat it really fast is bad because you won't enjoy it or appreciate the game in most cases

I've read in an issue of NPower, within the last two years, advertising videogame records... i'll have to find it, but a guy holds a record of beating AlttP in 38 minutes, something like that, but it's under an hour

You are thinking of this: Speed Demos Archive - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.

There is NO WAY it can be done in the time you said, watch this dudes speed run and you will know what I mean
