Anyway, I was reading and learned that if I went and found an Ice Rod it would be easy....so I got it and tried it....I ran out of magic. I then didn't have enough for a second try so I did it the normal way....and I somehow did it normally! I was so happy...

I like ALttP more now...I gotta try and get to the third dungeon.

I really don't like the 2D games as much. They're really lacking something and they need to have some really great features in order for me to like them.

Oh my gosh, OH MY GOSH!!! Look, I don't HAVE a gamecube, a wii, OR a DS!!! The Zelda game with the best graphics I'VE played is OoT!!! Almost every game I've played is 2-D!!! But notice, I still play Zelda!!! I'm still having fun!!! So what gives???!!!

But he didn't say anything about graphics. 2D vs 3D is more than just graphics of course. The fact that you can rotate and look around is a totally different feel, and the extra dimension allows for much deeper dungeon design

I thought ALttP was a very great game. I don't play games to grasp the loveliness of their graphics, as long as they provide great gameplay. ALttP did just that. It had wonderful gameplay, perfect difficulty level, intriguing dungeons, and excellent bosses. Every boss had a strategy to it, but it did not require a single item to defeat it, you could defeat the Giant Lanmolas with either the Bow or the Sword, or simply a bomb.

ALttP set the stage for the 3D games, and eventually became a classic a day after its release.

Yeah, I really prefer the extra dimension. It just adds ssssssooooo much to the gameplay and the feeling to me. I find it an infinite times more enjoyable and engaging to be running through a giant field and looking up at the sky and trees, searching for new places to go and things to find, then viewing Link running through a field from above like some kind of god being.

Playing OoT, TWW and TP, I feel like I'm on an adventure and actually doing the things. In ALttP, AoL and TMC it feels sort of like I'm just watching. (PH and LoZ are somewhere inbetween)

Also, the combat is significantly better and more fun in the 3D games, and so are the puzzles. Also, I find that the music and story is better in the 3D games. This doesn't have anything to do with 3d, they could have put great music and story into the 2D games, but I think they step it up a bit more when the game is 3D.

I think ALttP is a great game. Sure it may not have the depth of a 3D game, but it's challenging, a good length and the gameplay is good.

So biased in your facts. Honestly TP was a PHAILURE. It is basically OoT and ALttP music redone. Honestly and Truly, i thought that ALttP was better than TP. It was very well made, and constantly had you thinking, unlike TP and its sloppy & easy puzzles. As for the viewing, 2D allows you to see full 360 degrees of your surroundings. As for 3D, you can only see whats in front of the character, which in Zelda, you can be hit from behind. Also most of the newer Zelda games (WW, TP) feel like they are just thrown together to satisfy the hardcore fanboy(s)/fangirl(s). So I prefer 2D instead of 3D.

TP has lousy music, yes.

Anyway, I thought TP's puzzles were actually pretty hard. A lot harder then TWW's and OoT's. The block puzzles, the Master Sword puzzle...

And that's why I don't like the 3D. You're an all seeing god, it just takes away from the experience. That's great if I get hit by behind, Link couldn't have known and so I couldn't have either, it's accurate and interesting.

And while TP arguably had many elements fans begged for, how did TWW? It was very different from what most fans wanted.

I just downloaded ALttP on the VC last year, and beat it a few months ago.
I thought it was a very good game.
It may not live up to today's standards, but it's definitely worth the time and effort.

No, it was not. If you even completed the game, you must have had your TV on mute if you don't remember the 110 or 120 new unique songs they created. If they remixed some old popular ones, that's because they were good. Are you saying OoT didn't take music from ALTTP? But I'm sure you complain about OoT's soundtrack as well, because only complaining about TP doing that would be hypocritical.

So being hardcore or a fan is a bad thing? TP was a great game. It's enemies were stupidly easy and couldn't hurt you, but ALTTP's dungeons take 15 minutes. You can't say it's just all-around better because it's an older classic game. And yes in 2D you can see in 4 directions, but how far? Enemies have to be with one second's travel for you to see them. Forget gameplay ideas like sniping or dropping from above.
