Seriously, i was so excited to get this classic on my Wii VC. I was ready to re-explore the SNES classic and spend hours upon hours of collecting EVERYTHING. Honestly, i got the master sword and first entered the dark world, and turned my Wii off because i thought i had been playing for too long. i reloaded my Wii and cjecked my Wii's calender, and it said i played ALTTP for 32 minutes. And i never died or came lose to dying. The only dungeon that actually was challenging was the ice palace, and thats only the one puzzle where you have to push that certain block to the floor below and backtrack to the room to push that said block over a switch.
It is a very easy Zelda game when compared to others.

Well AlttP was a long time ago.
I've played it through again recently and yes, it is easy but still, one of the most classic and loved games of the entire series. And still to this day one of my personal favourites. 8)

Alttp is easy? I certainly dont think so. I got it on the VC and although the dungeons are quite short, i find it hard figuring were to go next after i finish a dungeon. I am currently stuck in a dungeon and i've been trying to figure out what i missed.(probably something small though....... it always is.)

Other then the bosses, I usualy get through the game pretty easy. Except for the last dungeon before Ganondorf. But I gave up on that, it became annoying having to collect damn fairys all the time.
Yea, it did not cross my mind to save before I entered the dungeon and save often ![]()

The first time I played it on the VC, I found it moderately challenging, since I'm rather pathetic at solving puzzles/riddles/etc.
One thing it definately is though, is annoying. Any time I come close to beating Ganon, I hit him and then go flying off the ledge, so I have to go back, restock on heath/potions/arrows, and try to beat him again. Oh well, I'll get him sooner or later. |

The game was difficult back in the days, because you never knew what to do next. The bosses were easy, but what did you expect from a snes games
? It's not like nintendo could have made it harder, because of the limited controls. I personally thought that Alttp was one of the hardest games of zelda, especially when I compare it to windwaker, phantom hourglass, TP etc, but that' s mine opinion.

I was playing ALttP on my DS at the doctor and now it does seam easy. but Dragohan has a point. I have beat the game four or five times now. =P
When I was 14 it was harder and for me TP was a lot easier first time through. |

I don't think any of the Zelda games are that hard, honestly, but if we're gonna talk dead easy, I'd say something like TMC is waaaay too easy compared to older games like LoZ/AoL and aLttP. I don't know if that makes me a natural, or maybe I've just been playing videogames too long. Don't really care, to be frank, because I played aLttP when it was first released and back then it was something that really blew me away. Actually, the first LoZ did so, as well, because of the exploration factor and not being lead by the nose. ALttP was a total step up from AoL and LoZ in terms of shaping the series. It did for me what OoT did for many newer fans - captured, captivated and stuck. Now, I went through OoT/MM/TMC/tWW/TP without losing a life in any of those games once, but so long as it's fun, I'm good with it (whether I found all those games fun is a different story).

Every Zelda game is easy.
Monsters don't do enough damage....etc. It needs a change.

Huh? I've always thought ALttP was one of the harder games... Well, not puzzle-wise of course xD But you loose hearts (and sometimes magic) so quickly but get few chances to recover it - I especially think this applies to Ice Palace, Misery Mire, Turtle Rock and Ganon's Tower. The bosses - yeah, they are easy, but when you've lost a great deal of hearts before entering their lair, they still kill you.
Okay, the only hard think with ALttP are the enemies scattered everywhere. Let's take the Water Gate Palace - there are Water Tektites, some weird blobs that come down from pipes, fire-shooting statues, and green blobs that come flying at you. You're vulnerable to ALL of them at the same time.

ALttP offers more challenge then TP. Especially the bosses.
You have to think about that ALttP was the third Zelda game, it used many puzzles and battle strategies that had never been seen before and it took some time to figure them out. Many of the following Zelda games reused that puzzles. So if you have played later Zelda games and then go back to play ALttP your bound to think it's easy, because you allready know the solution to all puzzles. |

Well I'd say the reason why it was easier than it's two predecessor games was because it was more focused on development and less on bosses. The original Zelda didn't really have a wide variety of weapons or puzzles. ALttP changed the face of the Zelda series by implementing a lot of the things that are now commonplace in Zelda games.
Could they have made it harder? Sure. Was that what was most important? I think not. And as others have said, some of the newer games are much easier. Let's just keep our fingers crossed and hope for a change towards toughness in the future. |

You can't, after every dungeon you have to get the heart piece in order to get the pendant or crystal.

The thing to remeber is, yes, maybe today, after you've played the game ages ago and replay it today ... the game was such a memorable experience that your bound to remember how you solved some of those tough puzzles long ago. Hust try and remember back then, when you first played it without any guides or knowledge on what to do. It was a long and challenging game when first played.
Sure, replaying it and knowing what to do today would be Dead Easy. Think of it like a math test you failed in school ... when you first took it, it was long and tough, but after your teacher shows you the correct solutions and answers, that test is a breeze when you take it the second time ![]()

I'm going to have to disagree with you here. No, ALttP is not a terribly difficult game, but it's still challenging enough to be interesting, at least the first time you play through it. And it's certainly more difficult than any of the recent games.
Granted, most of the puzzles seem like fairly standard Zelda fare to us today, but nearly all of it was brand new when ALttP was first released, so you can't really fault it for that, except to say that it hasn't aged as well as it could have. As for dungeon navigation, most of it's pretty straight forward, but there are some rather significant excptions towards the end of the game, particularly the Ice Palace, Misery Mire, and the basement of Ganon's Tower. The boss fights were pretty easy. In their defense, though, most of them were puzzle bosses, so that's to be expected.

Honestly, save AOL due to limitations, the entire franchise is easy. Arguably, AOL and MM are the hardest games in the entire franchise. Ironically, they are also the least sold games as well.
See, what people fail to realize is Zelda, like Mario, has always been about fun. While TP's storyline was more indepth then those of the past, the actual game play was not hard. The dungeons were not overly difficult or challenging. But let me tell you, the game was fun as hell. The boss fights... were amazing. The boss fights in TP alone make it a top favorite. If only the ganondorf fight wasn't so... easy... Like, it all builds up to this but nearly every boss before was more challenging. As for ALTTP, it really falls in line with the entire franchise. While there is a hardcore aspect to the franchise, and you could see nintendo knowing this simply with the Cave of Ordeals, it doesn't mean the games themselves are ever hard. We play Zelda because it's fun. PH is the easiest zelda game I have ever played, but I never even realized how easy it was until I was finished.... because I was too busy having a great time. |

where you have to save that person, 'take them to the light' only to find out it was the light i missed by centimeters, passing it hundreds of times. but yeah, i thought the parts after the dungeons were hard, where-to-go wise. for example, hookshotting across the water onto that skull or something that had me stumped for hours haha. |

Games that were ridiculously easy back then have gotten harder today, because there's less options on controls and gameplay mechanics. there wasn't "lock-on" targeting back then, or 14 button controller lay-outs. The simplicity to the games back then make it more of a challenge today because of the advancements in these next-gen games. But, i will argue, AlttP really was easy when i got in on my VC around last summer. but, the fun and adventure was still there, just not the difficulty
