Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

LoZ was the second video game I played, Mario being the first. I hated it for a long time because I couldn't figure out wtf was going on. You need a raft for huh?! I was only 6, what the hell did I know about bombing dungeon walls to find secret passages?

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

I think I actually played the game in the store back in like '90/'91 but I was way too young to know what was going on. That was back when they used to have NES hooked up to a TV and you could just play games.

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

I'm 23. I played it in 1989-1992 and never beat it. I still have the saved game on my old NES cart from back then. But one day last year I downloaded it to my Wii, determined to finally beat the first one after all this time... without any help.

I totally beat it. But I also totally ended up cheating and looking up dungeon maps.

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

nope, wasnt even thought of yet! and my brother was... two, i think, when that came out. I was born in '89. It's HARD! Played a little bit of it on the Collector's Edition, and it i hard as hell! well, i suck at using a D-Pad, so that could account for something. ^^;

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

I tried my hand at TLOZ, and TAOL back in the NES days,
but I was young, and I didn't really get the whole point.
I went back to my lovely action games, like my all-time
favorite NES Mega Man games.

It wasn't until 1998 that I seriously gave Zelda a chance,
and fell in love with the series playing Link's Awakening DX.

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

One is in color and one isn't. Plus a special color dungeon at the end of DX.

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

Although I was alive back then I didn't start playing zelda until 2000. When I did start though I was instantly hooked. People keep telling me I should put down the controller after 8 years but eh

Re: Anybody else played LoZ IN 1987?

That was two years before my birth, so obviously not. I got a NES on my third birthday, though, and I've been gaming since I was two, if not before then, thanks to my brother who would let me watch and play with him (and he's fifteen years older!).

I played ALttP when I was... young. I don't remember when, exactly. I just remember it was at my older cousin's house.

But to be honest, I didn't play LoZ until yesterday when I was at my boyfriend's house. I'm a disgrace to the Zelda community. *hangs head in shame*
