why is AOL the WORST GAME??

Well i would have to say that everyone here knows how bad and here i say that the game is just miyamotos' bisness sales at nintendo at the time and walt disney combind, well Zelda{slepping beauty} is in a coma though Link after saveing her twice! has to go out and freaking die a thousand times, excpt Link is Mr. miyamoto! he is trying to get to the exit of Nintendo do to the fans out side the palace! then the blocks it seems that is just the sales for Nintendo!

While I agree that it isn't conventional Zelda, it is IMHO one of the finest NES games made. It is hard (an area in which all 3D Zeldas are seriously lacking) and it actually gives you a challenge. It is not impossible as other NES games though.

The story is no good, I agree with that as well.. but it's practically the same with the original LoZ. I don't think anyone played LoZ or AoL for their stories back then, it's the gameplay that matters.

I don't really get what you're saying about sales, but I really don't think this is the worst game. There are tons, new and old, games that are worse I think. Of all the Zelda games, I'd say it's about as good as LoZ - only very different.

I don't really understand what this thread is about. But if you're trying to bash AoL for being a bad game, you're sadly mistaken.

I hated pretty much everything about this game. The world map was horribly executed, and the fights were rarely fun. I must mention, though, that I quit before I ever reached the first dungeon. I think. I may have played it but hated it.

The leveling system also sucked, but I don't remember how it worked. But it sucked.

AOL was my least favorite Zelda, but it wasn't as terrible as you make it out to be. It was insanely hard, but I like challenges. Also, I heard Miyamoto wasn't involved in this game. Is that true? If it is, then that would explain why it's so unorthodox.

Why is it the worst?

It isn't.
It is, in fact, one of the best. It is one of the most challenging, if not THE most challening Zelda game ever made, it introduces some of the great things of Zelda fame, and it provides, if you stick it out past the initial bad-looking start, a fantastic overall gaming experience.

And the story isn't that bad.

it's not that it's a bad game, it's that it is so difficult and challenging. not to mention that the game strayed from the first zelda's top down adventure style.

many people hate the side-scrolling thing - I did myself, at first, but eventually I got used to it. Others hate the fact that at first there is no clue what you are supposed to do, and it can take ages to work out how to start off, but after that it is a much better game.
