AoL is awful

Ugh, forget that I said ALttP was the worst Zelda I've played, AoL is waaay worse.

It's so different, boring, annoying and very difficult.

Also, there are these caves/dungeons that I enter and I keep getting injured even though there is NOTHING there.

It's horrible!

Aol is definitely more difficult than ALttP. I wouldn't call ALttP bad by any means.

As for getting injured when there's nothing there, the only problem I can think of is you haven't found the candle yet. So the room is dark and you can't see the enemies.

Don't worry you'll get used to the game. The enemies are there, but the cave is too dark to see them.

while AoL is quite differnet from other Zeldas it's not terrible. Those caves you are talking about, you need the candle to see the monsters, it's in the first palace. you're giving up way too easliy. If it's that hard for you look for a walkthrough guide, the're all around the net.

Mr. Togepi, no offense, but you seem to base your love of Zelda games based on ease. Just saying...

And how is a game where if you don't pay attention you die boring? That game featured a great and sophisticated (for the time) battle system which I felt was great. I certainly had a lot of fun with it. It was really hard, but have you played any NES game? A large majority of them were quite difficult. I enjoy the challenge, and still play it, considering no new games coming out provide that same kind of challenge. Other than the MegaMan ZX games.

Seems like you're way to early in to the game to develope this strong of a negative opinion.
Is the game hard? YES
Is it terrible? HECK NO
Give it a chance. The game is rewarding if you stick it out.

i know! One time i had, one piece of life left and i was just about to leve the cave when i died, i had NO IDEA WHY THAT HAPPENED!!!

yes, but if you call a zelda game bad, its still good. and i have no idea where you got alttp as a bad game, it was one of my favorites.

i dont like the difficulty, but i can get past that; however, my major problem with the game is that when i die, I go all the way back to the palace with the sleeping Zelda! going through the same cave over, and over again is not bad except i have to go all the way back to the cave.

Aol is HARD by miles but It's not awful, I think it's a good game even though I have only beaten one dungeon, infact I'm gonna try after I log off.

QFT, well except the best NES game. I still love my Balloon Fight. But AoL DEFINITELY had the best battle system on an 8-bit console. Second best would probably be River City Ransom.

I have to say i didnt like aol the first time i played it, it was really fustratingly hard, but as i got further into the game i began to like it. so dont hate the game because you think its hard.

I used to hate it but now its on my neutral list, its hard, and thats what makes it good in my opinion (even though I cant through any dungeons for BLEEP). If nintendo would remake it for the DS (because I believe it would be verygood on a handheld) and fix it up a bit (new graphics perhaps gameplay) it would be a big hit.

No new gameplay! maybe add a bit more things that you can do, but if someone remakes AoL don't he dare to change the gameplay! even if it's Nintendo who changed it!

a 3D change is an inevitable change in the gameplay, unless is a 2D 3D like Smash Bros...

Order in terms of when I first played them:

1. LoZ
2. TP
3. ALttP
4. OoT
5. TWW
6. PH
7. TMC
8. AoL

A more detailed timeline

November 2006 - I buy LoZ on the VC. I play it a for a few hours over the course of the month and don't really like it

December 2006 - Very late in the month, after Christmas, I decide to buy TP with my Christmas money because it looked good. I absolutely loved it as soon as I got past the Ordon Village.

January 2007 - Kept playing TP constantly. I got ALttP and liked it at first but suffered from the difficultly.

February 2007 - I started playing LoZ again sometimes, while continuing my playing of TP. I also got OoT this month and played it but wasn't a huge fan.

March 2007 - I finally beat TP. I stop playing Zelda games for a while.

April 2007 - Some playing of LoZ, ALttP and OoT but not too much

May 2007 - I get TWW sometime in May. I play it for a bit and get frustrated in the Forsaken Fortress first visit. Get completely stuck and stop playing.

June 2007 - I try and play TWW again so I can try to beat the FF. I play the game constantly through the month afterwards. A bit of LoZ & ALttP playing but not too much.

July 2007 - I play more of TWW, eventually finishing up the game a few days before Harry Potter 7 came out. (I wanted to make sure I did that, so I wouldn't have to choose between the 2 )

August 2007 - I start playing OoT (I think I was in Jabu Jabu's Belly when I started in August). I soon become addicted. I beat OoT a few days after BioShock came out. A bit of LoZ/ALttP playing.

Sepember 2007 - I start playing through TWW again, since it had a second quest and PH was coming out soon. I have a lot of fun and complete a lot of the side quests, including the pictograph sidequest.

October 2007 - I beat TWW on the second or third of the month and get PH on the fourth. I play it for like 8 hours for several days and beat it. Not much Zelda for the rest of the month, some ALttP and quite of a bit of LoZ near the end of the month.

November 2007 - I played LoZ for quite a bit in the beginning of the month but no Zelda after that.

December 2007 - I started second playthrough of TP and a third playthrough of TWW. I don't really go that far into them though and only play occasionally. I get The Minish Cap for Christmas and play that a lot.

January 2008 - I get AoL on the first day of the year and hate it. I've been working on my third playthrough of TWW a few times, and I continue playing through TMC. A bit of ALttP but I don't plan to play AoL anymore.

As others have said to you in the past, NintendoTogepi, you need Majora's Mask. Need it. But that is off topic.

I have never completed Adventure of Link, but I have played it for a substantial amount of time. There are some enemies that kill me far more often than not, and I have discovered nothing terriby interesting or honestly that worthwhile in the game so far. I wont deny that it can be fun, but it gets boring quick.(apart from the Temple music which was later used in Super Smash Bros Melee. That made me very happy!)

Just because a game is hard doesen't mean it's not fun. "If it's hard, than the game is giving you a chalange," and that means, to me, that it's fun because I never give up. And for the record, I very much Like AoL. The "Expirience" background made it fun, and I loved it, actualy. I can remeber once I started AoL on my first time... I just loved getting exp. and making levels. I was amazed at it, too. I usualy played my Zelda games from the most recently made to the first ones, and It made me think to myslef: "Why would they do such a thing?", but I just realize that it was eairy beginnings, and you can't blame anybody. I, for one, enjoy AoL. If you don't like that, you can kiss the dark side of my ass ^_^

The difficulty: Just a flaw. As I just said, it beginned eairy, just as LoZ did, and they very limited to 8-bit graphics, and not much of a game they could have made. But for LoZ, on the otherhand, I almost like it as much as AoL. I liked LoZ because it was the starting point for a very good series, and we owe our deepest respect to it. It's basicly the game that got us hooked. But back to AoL's difficulty: It is hard, yes, but thats what makes it fun! I may have yelled quite a few times, but I admit it is fun.

Progress: walking through AoL is not an easy task. You have to "magicialy" sumble upon your destination to contiue your progress with the game. I don't like this, but neither does anyone else when they get stuck, but with every evil, there is a good. This allows you to kill creatures and get exp. to level up. And as I said, I enjoy the levels.
