Virtual Console Link to the Past

The Virtual Console's been out for a year now, and I only recently found out about the PAL conversion issues. It says that there are black borders on the screen and that the game runs at 50 hz instead of 60 hz, which is something I don't understand. For all you PAL peoples out there who have downloaded A Link to the Past, is there any noticeable difference in the speed and framerate between the original SNES version and the Virtual Console version? These same questions go out for Super Mario World.

If I kept my mind on it, I could drift all the way through the middle of the hoop without losing my concentration. This really felt like an achievement to me. In my mind I built myself an imaginary trophy cabinet, and awarded myself a small keepsake for each time I drifted through the circlet. "Well Done", I thought. Well Done indeed.

Alls I knows is there were "PAL conversion issues" which I think means "trouble with uploading this game to the Virtual Console from its original format" and that means that it runs it 50 hz, which supposedly means it runs slower and there are frame skips. If you know what I mean.

Oh, now I get what you're saying. Next time I suggest looking up what terms mean and giving the definitions instead of the terms.

Anyways, I haven't gotten any VC games yet, but I think Nintendo wouldn't release something that was any less than original quality.

In my experience, pal is european and ntsc is americas and japan. 50hz pal 60 ntsc. This was the case in alot of games. There is a small slow down in pal format but not that much. And it's nothing to do with frame rates. The frame rate as far as i know is the same for both formats. NTSC is just a higher resolution. (Don't quote me on that though) seriously though, not that much difference.

Also i have heard that ALttP on the vc is shorter than the original snes version. More like four swords on gba.

Thats weird, your right- it is slower. You'd a modern system like the Wii could easily play an old game. I guess it the fact that the SNES code is emulated instead of ported. That is the only possible reason why.
