Are you cheap?

Well, I am playing through the second quest of Zelda, and i have found it to be crazy hard, so I have done something that I consider to be very cheap. I am going through and leaving only one enemy on each screen. We all know wot that does, it makes it so that enemy will be the only thing that ever appears on the screen until you kill it. I started it on my quest to get the letter, and every time I was about to die, I would save and go a little further, until walking around was no problem.

Has anyone else stopped to my level? Or worse?

Wow, I actually didn't even know that. To be honest, though, when I first beat the game, I did use a walkthru. I think that's much, much cheaper. I think I'm going to go back and try to beat it again without it.

Back then? It certainly isn't any easier now, lol. I've actually always been afraid to use cheat devices, since there is always that chance that you can screw something up. And while I did not use a guide on the first Zelda (i did not play that one until 1999/2000 I think) I did use one for Ocarina of Time. I wish I could beat up the child me for doing that, dungeons aren't as much fun if you follow instructions.

Thank heaven for Master Quest, and the fact that I wasn't able to find a guide for aLttP/LA

It was kind of easy. No walkthru, no cheats, no cheap ways.

this is why you need to ALWAYS read the first post of a thread, because we don't mean cheap as in rupees, but cheap as in being lazy or finding a way to cheat.

anyway- I didn't know that about LOZ... does it work with the zleda collectors disk on GC too? I REALLY need to play MQ!!!

Wow, this is surprising, I always thought this was common knowledge, lol. At least it was in my circle of friends. I actually have never played in on GC (I find collectors edition to be a waste of looking through ebay), but since it works on the GBA version, I assume it works on GC and VC.

And yes, play Master Quest. It's loverly.

Heck ya I'm cheap, if I feel like having something challenging I won't be cheap but if I really want to get something done and the only way to do it is to play dirty then I'll go ahead and do it. There was one boss in one of the later 2D zelda games that could've been killed by a boomerang, now I still had a lot of health left and I could've fought normally....but screw that, he's going to die either way so I might as well make it quick and dirty. Some people may not like to play that way, but it's just how I am ^_^

On the topics of Game Genies and such, I tend to not use them...since I don't really want to dish out the money for them and I don't really have a need for them. Sometimes I do wish I could play around with some of the other things you can do with a game genie though.

While I am well aware of that trick, I have never bothered doing it. I've learned where all the hidden heart containers are, so I can get the magic sword directly after level four. I can even take the shortcut through the mysterious maze east of the starting point that's a quicky way to the cemetary.

Include the magic sword with the blue ring and magic shield, and there's no place in the overworld dangerous enough to warrant that strategy. Even up in the mountains where the Lynels are.

^Try going into west death mountain immediately after level 1 of quest 2. Max number of hears possible is 5 and with a blue ring that gives you 5 hits against blue Lynels. In one section there are at least 8 or 10 Blue Lynels.

I die pretty quickly there.

I was talking about quest 1, actually. Quest 2 is of course harder, so that trick may be more than worth it. Mainly I just have a problem with a certain enemy in level four that takes away your sword until you drink a potion or leave the level.
