I'm actually really enjoying the original Zelda now

I've been trying it again and it's been a lot of fun! I'm currently trying to beat Dungeon 5. I'm about halfway through Dungeon 4 and I've beaten the first three!

I suck at the first game! I only made it to the third dungeon after that I either got stuck or just stopped playing. I also don't understand the old man.

Haha, YES I've played through the first quest with all items collected a few times on the GCN collector's edition. wait til you go for the flute in dungeon 5, still a pain in the arse today.

oh, and the 2nd quest, Geez, it's still a good challenge to this day.

You'll enjoy that classic a plenty

Glad to hear it man! Even if you have to use a few hints here and there, it's a pretty good time, and challenge.

Good luck!
IMO, you can't be a true Zelda fan until you've conquered the original.

That is actually a fact, lol.

The original is awesome, and I am glad you are enjoying it so much! I have been playing it through on the classic NES series recently and am working on Level 2 of the second quest. I never did manage to conquer the second quest on the original version, so hopefully I can get through it this time. Just need some more hearts....

^ It's not actually a fact...I was a Zelda fan before I beat LoZ, I'd played all the other games besides AoL...

...but yeah, LoZ is very good, imagine what it must have been like back when it was new, when the graphics would have looked comparatively awesome...

I haven't beaten the first game, but I've played most of it. Maybe I should work on it.

I too am playing through the original via the GBA classic version. Im stuck about half way through.

Of all the different Zelda games down the line, loZ is among some of the hardest. Nes games always did have an edge of difficulty to them.

Good job on playing this game! Seriously, so many people overlook the NES games- they are so fabulous though. It's a wonderful challenge. Keep us all posted on your progress. ^_^

I have recently beat the first quest, same with AoL. It was fun, but Ganon was too easy, since I have beaten ALttP a few times (which is an improved/harder version). Soon I will start both second quests.

P.S. I downloaded LoZ on Zelda Classic with Lost Ilse and I have the GBA version of AoL.

I can tell you from personal experience that it was a very awesome experience! Especially in comparison to the only other game like it I had ever played which was Adventure for the Atari 2600. (http://www.cnspace.net/cge/atari2600/adventure.gif)

So yeah I'm glad to hear that your enjoying the original Zelda. It can be a bit challenging just be grateful your playing it now when there is so much help available online if you get stuck. The first time I played LOZ I spent 4 months searching for that one one dungeon that's hidden under a bush.
