A fourth Zelda Game?

A friend of mine says that there is four Zelda games to NES/SNES? I only know of three... Is there a fourth?

Here is the games I know of:
NES: The Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link.
SNES: A Link to the Past.

Hint: Look at the ZU main page, all the games are listed there, except the CD-i ones.

It depends on how you look at it.

In the west, there was only 3 titles, but Japan had BS Zelda no Densetsu Kodai no Sekiban, a Zelda game which was released on the Satellaview, a Japanese only add-on for the Snes.

Although not a vital part of the series, it's still a game that exists, and should be counted.

I believe that LA was originally to be developed for the SNES, but was moved to the GB early in development.

Of course, that could just be a load of bull****.

Some people say that a third NES zelda was supposed to be made.Never did though.
Save fangames and fanhacks, the only NES/SNES games that are zelda are LOZ,AOL,and LTTP.

The 3rd Zelda game was originaly planned for the NES, but then the Genesis came out, and so Nintendo made the SNES and put the 3rd zelda game on it. Also Zelda BS wouldn't really count as real Zelda game because its just a remake.

How so? It's set in the same Hyrule we see in Alttp, but follows a different storyline all together.

The first BS Zelda was essentially a remake of the first, he's not talking about KnS.

Thats a major part, as a lot of people don't even know about it. I ignore it since it openly contradicts alttp, such as the dark world still existing.

Timeline wise, sure, it could be seen as a contridiction. That said, it is still an LoZ game developed by Nintendo.

you dont even play as link in this game and has its own story.
