Blue Darknuts

Ok so i'm playing LOZ, and I just beat the 4th dungeon. I'm on the fifth one now. I got to the boss but my sword slashes did,t effect him. I used all of my items including the boomerang and bait. Nothing. So then I go to GameFaqs.com and it told me how to get the Recorder which apparentley I need to beat digdogger. So I get to the room with the Blue Darknuts, and the guide just says

Kill the Blue Darknuts

So after like 26 trys, I finnally beat them 1 half heart to spare. So i get to the next room and, MORE GOD FORSAKEN BLUE DARKNUTS!!! Do any of you have any special tricks to beat them whilst using the least amount of potion and saving losts of life? BTW I have 11 hearts.

Sword slash to their side or back (lots) or bombs. This should be in the help thread.

Ayup...bomb the living crap out of them.

Yeah dude, those things are the biggest pain in the entire game. You just gotta be fast and slash them when they aren't facing you; much easier said than done.

Oh man, those guys are awesomely hard. Def the hardest part when I was little, though I never beat it at that age.(5-8) I would say go in with full life and 2 potions, then just try and snipe them with the sword shot as long as you can. If you can get rid of a few that way it'll make it much easier to sneak up on the rest. And obviously save the potion for one heart left and then repeat. Do you have the blue ring?

Im playing the second quest right now and I have come across some of them. They are hard, much easier if your hp is full and you can shoot them. I don't remember if arrows do anything to them. But I found them in a room with the red bubbles that disables your use of the sword UNTIL you touch a blue bubble.

Another thing that makes this really hard is the controls; NES D-pad controls (even on GameCube) are stiff as hell. It's very tough to change directions quickly with it.

The key is to stay away from the packs. Single out the ones that are on their own. Take them out one at a time. Keep moving. Do NOT rely on bombs. Bombs have much less effect on blue darknuts.

Im on that same scene right now, I check gamefaqs too by the way.
I suggest (even though I myself am stuck)coming in with a red potion
I've tried bomb they don't really work,slash them at the sides they will do 180 rotation
and you can get another free hit.

Not only that, but bombs will prove to be invaluable in the later dungeons (7-9); you'll be bombing through walls almost every single screen.

No i don't, but it costs 250 rupees any money tricks?

There are quite a few caves that give out rupees hidden all over the map.

Addition: I remember being able to have every heart container hidden on the map by the time I got to this level. In that case, you would have enough hearts to get the magical sword. I might be wrong though.......

The fifth boss's that big eye thing, right? Use the flute, and then let 'im have it!
