Error?

I don't know if this has been discussed before but in some town near the beginning of the game in AoL I walked into a house and the man just said "I Am Error!" Is there any reason for this or is this a game glitch. Were they trying to add in a side quest but then just trashed the Idea and just made the NPC say something random?

I dunno, I think Error is something of humor the game creaters put in, I mean it is very funny "I AM ERROR". I could be a program mistake though, I mean maybe the game didn't read it, so it's I am error...?

It's actually due to poor translation that his name is ERROR, his real name is actually Errol which makes a little more sense but the poor translations of the NES days turned that last L into an R, thus the enigmatic ERROR...

As far as I can tell, it's a joke. At any rate, it's certainly NOT a mistake; someone else later in the game refers to Error by name.

in other town, some guy says "ASK ERROR OF (insert town name here) ABOUT (intert what you have to ask here)" if you talk to Error since then he gives some info

So says Wikipedia; a site that anyone could edit. Wikipedia shouldn't be used as a prime source of information. The fact that the article has no link to confirm what it states about Error just goes to show that it isn't very reliable. Unless another outside source can actually confirm this, then Wikipedia shouldn't be considered as credible.

Many people find ''I am Error'' quite comical, and so do I. There is also a character that was to say ''I am Bug'' but because of a translation error it became something else. I cannot remember what or where though...

( The first boss in Super Paper Mario, Fracktail, says '' I am Error ''. )
