Pink Hair

Have you noticed that in ALTTP, Link's hair is pink? If you look real closely under his hat, you see pink. That's his hair. Discuss this weirdness here.

It's brown in the walkthrough and instruction manual...

I guess you'd have to ask ninty why they did it.

It's a bandana on his hat, or maybe, eh, I don't really care. I don't recall a hair dying kit coming with any of the tunics you can get in ALTTP.

Hey, lay of the Pink hair. It's cool. If you had pink hair, you'd want people liking it. Maybe he wants Zelda so much, he dyed it her favourite colour. Or maybe it is brown, and you need glasses. Who knows?

Actually, I think his hair is pink. Maybe Nintendo just accidently messed up with it.

Okay, you need glasses (or if you already have them, wear contacts at the same time), because his bandana/hair/whatever is pink (where did you get brown?). Got it? Good. Topic closed.

Yes! it wasnt just my bad eyes after all! yeah, i have noticed it before... but hey, its all good. i dont really care about that to much, as long as theres a boy in a green tunic and hat.

I AM THE MASTER! I WILL DECIDE! Yes, his hair is pink. Four some reason, the sprite makers did this. Maybe they tried out different colors for his hair, just to make it look right. They did not think people would be sitting three inches from their televisions asking themselves, "Is his hair pink?" I remember using an old SNES game called Mario Paint, in which you can use the mouse controller to draw and paint picures, to make sprites from ALttP. It is actually harder than you would think, you need a magnifying glass to look real close at the GBA screen. Then you have to remember where the different pixels went. I experimented with Link, since he had pink (or purple) hair, and gave him more realistic orange hair. It actually makes him look like the Link from Ocarina of Time. But his hair is most likely pink to make him look good from a distance.

Well, I don't have it for the SNES. I have it for the GBA. It's easy to notice on the GBA. I think this should be closed.

WOW. There are actually other people who see this. I always thought it looked purple though.

The answer to this is real simple: The programmers decided to make Link gay.

its just a screwup, LTTP is an old game, or its just some detail on his hat...

You can't really mess up in programming, especially with Colors. The code for pink would be:

Graphics.setColor(Color.pink);

so, unless the programmers were really stupid (not likely), the pink stripe is there on purpose.



Here is my opinion on the matter:
The pink is the brim to his hat. MY PROOF: Have you noticed that when Link gets the blue armor, the pink turns yellow? Maybe there's hair dye inside the hats that Link wears, or it's probably just a brim.

Either that or programmers back then had no real way to make brown with the RGB colors that were available to them (even I forget the code for brown. It's not a preset one like pink. You have to make it yourself), so they settled for the closest thing, which was a murky pink. WAIT, that couldn't have been, because there are brown trees and houses. Never mind. If it's not a brim, I have no idea what it could be.
