Help(Zelda II)

okay I'm on the third dungeon in
The Adventure of Link
my magic and health is at 5 but my fight is at 4
i can't get through even to the boss
does anybody have any suggestions that do not include
restarting my game or wandering aimlessly through the forests and desert fighting little creatures or is that the only way to do it

I had a level 6 life and level 6 magic and level 5 fight when i beat this dungeon and it was still hard. Just be patient. Tip: Stab the Darknut statue at the beginning of the dungeon. It will either be a red darknut producing 100 exp. or a red magic refiller. Use life when you get the magic refiller. You can do this until you're satisfied.

i guess i just got fed up with the dumb game well can't call myself a Zelda man until i've beaten it oh well maybe ill get around to it
