Re: Official NES/SNES Zelda Gameplay Help

*Merged threads*

Ok, now to answer your question Andrew/link.

You know where Zora's Domain is? Well go to it's entrance (but do not actually go in, you know, when the whole screen gets all pixely) and to the left of the entrance is one waterfall. Swim through the waterfall, and you'll see the Wishing Pond.

If you throw in your shield, the fairy will upgrade it to the Red Shield
If you throw in an empty bottle, the fairy will fill it up with Green Potion
If you throw in your boomerang, the fairy will turn it into a Magical Boomerang (it goes twice the distance).

These are the only things she can do to help you in your adventure (hey! Free Green Potion never hurts)

BGS, a little off topic, but I think between just you and me, we could totally own this thread due to the fact we both know everything about NES/SNES Zeldas ;D

Re: Official NES/SNES Zelda Gameplay Help

I believe at this point you need to go to the right, into a room with the sponge like creatures, and there should be a key either in an enemy or under a jar.

Your talking about Ganon's Castle in ALTTP, right?
Yea, make sure you have all the other crystals first(all of 'em), and then walk up to the front of Ganon's Castle in the dark world.
Walk up right to the middle, and stairs or a door should appear. That's your way in.

No, I'm outside of ummm, Turtle Rock (Where you get the 7th crystal) and I can't get in.

I can help there! First, do you have the Quake Medallion? If not, go to where the Waterfall of Wishing is (South of Zora's Waterfall) in the Light World, but go there in the Dark World. You should see a circle of rocks. Chuck something in there. It doesn't matter what. A rock, a bush, a bomb, anything. A weird fish will pop out and give you the Quake Medallion. Good. Then, go to where Turtle Rock is in the Dark World, but go there in the light world. There should be a hill with three pegs on it. Pound the pegs in the correct order (Just keep trying; after all, there's only three, so there isn't very many combonations) and a portal will apear. Take the portal into the Dark World, then stand on the pedastle that has the same mark as the Quake Medallion, and use it. The door should open. There you go! ^.^ Hope that helped!

Warp to Light World and go to the entrance to the desert. Talk to the guy by the sign that tells you to leave him alone (you may have to talk to the thief in Lost Woods to find out this guy is an ex-thief first). He will open the chest if you promise to not tell anyone he use to be a thief. In the chest is one of the four magic bottles.

Re: Official NES/SNES Zelda Gameplay Help

I just wanted to share my favorite level-up strategies for Zelda II

#1
After Dungeon 1 get the hammer in Death Mountain, then
get the Downward Stab in Mido

Now you can easily destroy Bubbles (flaming skulls)
jump straight up and downward thrust on top of one
hold down and you will keep bouncing until it is destroyed 50 pts. each
there is a passage in Dungeon 2 where two Bubbles live and reappear.

#2
After you get the raft, cross the sea from Mido and use the Fire
spell to destroy the blue Tektites (approach the weak random enemy)
this gives you a total of 150 pts. per encounter. You can get into the
1000s quicky. Just be sure to refresh yourself in Nabooru when you need to.

#3
There are 6 guaranteed Level-Ups in the game - 1 at the end of each
dungeon. When you beat a boss you will get enough exp. to reach your
next level. So don't put the crystals in the palaces until you need a lot
of exp.

#4
As long as you don't place the crystals you can re-enter dungeons
as often as you like. Just jump over the spot where your crystal
normally rises into the statue

Re: Official NES/SNES Zelda Gameplay Help

God. I've beaten ALTTP at least three times.
However, I've just gotten to misery mire, and guess what: I can't find the ether medallion to get in. I've looked everywhere where I think it would be.

Any help?

Go to the Tower of Hera in the Light World, then go up to the top left side, on the outside. There should be a bridge going to the left. Cross it, and at the other end is a stone tablet. Read it with the Book of Mudora, and after a cool cutscene, you'll get the Ether Medallion.
