At the very least, you need it to get there.

You jump in the water and tap the swim button. That is, of course, assuming you have the flippers. If you don't you need to get them. To get the flippers, you have to go up past the witch's house in the Light World, go to where the "Waterfall of Wishing" is, and find the furthest north-east corner of the map you can get to. Then navigate the shallows until you find the Zora dude who gives you the flippers (for a small fee of 500 rupees, of course.)

In the graveyard, in the Light World is a gravestone set off by itself with rocks. Charge into it with the Pegasus Boots and the grave will open with the Magic cape inside. To access the grave you'll need the Titans Mit or you'll have to warp inside the stones from the Dark World using the Mirror.

The graveyard is very conspicuous. If you leave the Sanctuary and go right one screen, it's directly above you. You can't possibly miss it. You need the Magic Mirror to get the Cape.

And you can have a total of 70 arrows and 50 bombs.

The graveyard is directly east of the Sanctuary.

Bombs and Arrows capacity can be increased at the Queen Fairy Fountain found in the middle of Lake Hylia. I've never bothered to find out how many you can hold.

Thank you. That's what I thought about the bombs and arrows.

Hmm...this is strange. I'm in New Kasuto, but the old man won't give me the Spell spell. He just says, "Come back when you are ready." Any ideas?

Yes. I went down the fireplace and talked to him, but he won't give it to me. I have beaten 4 temples (all I need to do is beat the boss to complete the 5th one). I have 8 heart containers, 6 magic jars, my attack level is 6, magic level is 7, and health level is 8. The only item left I have to get is the cross (and the last two magic containers, but i know where to get them). I'll keep trying, but any other ideas would be helpful.

My guess is that you need to finish the 5th palace. After all, that is the proper order of the game.

Ok, thanks. I wasn't sure. I'll go try that. If it doesn't work, then, I guess I'll be back. Thanks again.

No, it was added in for the GBA, he was silent in the original.
