Hardest Dungeon in ALttp

I have to enter almost 30 time in Turtle Rock because my magic powder when out. I also hated the Ice Palace with its floor.

I THINK (THINK) It's the palace of darkness. I HATE IT! It was the hardest place for me to beat. Turtle Rock wasn't hard for me, but it wasn't quite easy either.

The first dungeon. No clue what it's called, but the one with the armos boss. I have to say it. I borrowed the game from a friend but I had to give it back as soon as I beat it, so I don't know about anything else.

Lets see, it has to be the ice dungeon, and I don't know about you but i just have always had trouble with dungeons that have to do with ice or water. And there is at least one in most Zelda Games.

The hardest dungeon for me was the Palace of the Four Sword. It was easy with the Red Mail and Golden Sword, but try going through with the Green Mail and Master Sword, and then it starts getting tricky! I lost to the Doppelgangers nearly 60 times, then watched the movie "Legend" (which The Legend of Zelda is based off of), and killled them all on my first try. Strange... And for those of you who have trouble with the torch puzzle in Turtle Rock, there is a trick to lighting all the torches. Once you know it, you will surely smack yourself in the forehead and say, "Duh! Why didn't I think of that?" But you will have to find out what it is on your own! :p

I didn't find ANY of them to be actually difficult...........
The most ANNOYING ones for me, though, were the Thieves Town dungeon, and the Ice Palace. Getting to the Blue Tunic takes too long to be fun, and having to lead around the Thieves Town dungeon boss while he cross-dresses as a maiden was just plain wrong, and ticked me off greatly.........

Alright, sorry about the confusion. I forgot that this was the NES/SNES Zelda games category. For me, the hardest dungeon in A Link to the Past was Level 5 Ice Palace. That one "crystal switch, complete backtrack" puzzle is the only thing that makes this dungeon hard. By the way, did you know that the Pengators die in one hit if you hit them with your Hookshot?

I just wanted to know what the name of the palace that is in the lost woods in the dark world because I have been stuck on that dungeon for a while and so far I think it is the hardest.

you shoulda put none on the poll. because that was a freakin easy game. first time through i died once. <not including the time my lil cousin tampered with it and died on accident "without" ASKING.
Anyways I'm not trying to smash your guy'sis bubles or anything but that game was way easy. it was harder in the snes version, but still didn't cramp my style.

No, it is not the Palace of Darkness it's called Skull Woods. I can skip two thirds of that dungeon without even trying. Try setting bees loose on the boss, they end up killing him real quick.

For me it's a toss up between Misery Mire and Watergate Dungeon. In Misery Mire I just got plain lost and still do no matter how many times I play it. Watergate Dungeon is the only dungeon I haven't beaten without dying. Other than those two, the rest are a piece of cake....

What I remember, was that Ice Palace was confusing for me. It has been quite a while when I played ALttP the last time, so I don't remember very much of it.

The hardest for me is the Ice Dungeon because there's this part where you need to drop a block from the levels above to get it on this switch and the blue blocks that rise and fall at those round switches makes it hard, but what I do is complete the Swamp Palace first and use the Cane of Somaria on the switch instead

I did that once when I couldn't get past that puzzle. I don't know why it's that hard, all you have to do is go in a complete loop in the dungeon. But whenever you get back to the blocks, it turns out you hit a switch somewhere and the red (or blue, been a while since I played the SNES ALttP) blocks are still up.

I've beaten ALttP so many times now that i know the game inside and out. I know what i need to do in the dungeons so they aren't all that hard for me anymore. But I still get annoyed by some of the dungeon stuff. So I guess you could say the dungeon that annoys me the most would be turtle rock, for the simple fact that you need to bring in some green potions no matter how well you can use your magic meter because of both the puzzles and the boss need a lot of magic to kill.
