old school zelda

I just bought the original zelda for NES and i was wondering if anyone else still played either of the zelda games for NES

I am...I play The Legend of Zelda and Adventures of Link...

I play LoZ on the comp. It is the only Zelda game legally avalible on the computer. Get it at zeldaclassic.com for free. It also has a built-in matrix-esque screensaver.

Moved to NES/SNES Zelda.

No roms are counted as legal from Nintendo, sorry, uber-link.

And I haven't played either NES games, but have read the manuals and in-game text quite extensively...

EDIT: Sorry, uber-link, didn't realise that this Zelda Classic thing wasn't just a place to download roms. Although it isn't a Nintendo game, just a replica of one.

i bought myself a nes so i could play zelda I and II but i cant find em anywhere. whats a good place to buy them

Correction. They are legal if 1) they have not been licensed in the country you are in. 2) you already own the game.
I thought everyone knew those two rules.

::Waves her two old gold cartridges of LoZ and AoL:: YOU BETTER BELIEVE I PLAY THEM... well... sorta. Since my NES is on the fritz I can play them only moderately. I can do pretty well with getting LoZ to work as long as I don't take it out of the system, however, the farthest I've gotten before my game was erased on AoL was trying to get the hammer -_- And I'm crappy at playing ROMs so that's not a choice for me.

Actually, Maxine, those rules are false. They're made by Rommers to give you a sense of "I'm not doing anything wrong". The whole 24 hour deletion thing is also fake. ROMs are entirely illegal in any shape or form.

Yeah, I've got them on the Famicom, original Japanese carts. I play them alot, and they're quite fun indeed~

::shrugs:: I'm not going to argue with you Mercutio. I just know what I've always been told and the fact that the same applies for fansubs and such I think it's correct. ^_^ But perhaps it could be wrong and the whole world is just leading me by a bunch of lies. Oh well. ::shrugs::

The rules seem a little pointless though. I mean if you have the game yourself, why in the hell would you waste time to play it on the computer when it's 5 feet away from your feet. Oh well, not my problem, don't use them anyhow.

Back to topic, yeah, I have both of them. Although I still haven't taken the initiative to play through them both. AoL I play on Famicom though since I imported the stupid thing. Sure was a waste of my money, heh.

well, in my case, since my NES is on the fritz, the only way I can play AoL is via ROM. ((Not to mention all the many times I"ve dled roms to play at school ^_~ ))

they should put both nes games on a gba cart and sell them that way. they would sell like hotcakes

Good places to get them, rich relatives, micro-play and ebay...

another good place to get them is at an EB games store if you have one near you...they're around 15 dollars, my dad thinks thats way too much for a NES game but he just doesnt get that its zelda, lol

ROMs... they are legal, if you own the game... but only if you ripped the ROM from the cartridge yourself. So any ROMs that you download from someone else, even if you own the game, are illegal, and rightfully so.

I have LoZ on animal crossing. I find it very fun, and chalenging. I really want to play AoL cause it looks fun to me. I wish I had an NES. Soon shall I finally conqure Ganon!

I have both LoZ and AoL, but i still haven't finished either of them. I have to beat ganon in LoZ then I'm done, and in AoL, i have no idea where i am, only that i'm across the sea and have temples and stones to get rid of.
