Essence Of The Triforce

How come the Essence Of The Triforce never appeared in any other game beside ALttp?

It just didnt, that's all I can think of. Sorry I couldn't come up with a better reason.

I thought it might be because it's the only game you see someone make a wish to the Triforce, but that doesn't work because there are a few other games where someone makes a wish. But, the Essence of the Triforce never speaks in those games.

Well, that is one of the things that makes Link to the Past so unique...maybe it will appear in Link's quest to become an accountant in Legend of Zelda: Working Title?

I think its an idea that Nintendo thought up and then didn't use it again.

Why does the triforce represent light if evil beings can use it?

Actually, the more common title is Legendary Hero, or Hero of the Cataclysm (the Great Cataclysm the game mentions). You made up Hero of Light. And the Triforce does not represent light. As stated by the ALttP manual:

I'm a hardcore Zelda fan and have beaten every Zelda game(Excluding #2.) and have never heard that.

Come back to realityor give me proof.

I think that Nintendo didn't use the idea again because they just didn't want to make the Triforce speak in any other game.

I think one reason they implemented the "Essence of the Triforce" was to add a conclusion to the game. If you ask me, it would suck if Link just walked into the Triforce Chamber, grabbed the Triforce and held it over his head while the Triforce theme played in the background. No, it needed to give the player a feeling like they had finally accomplished what they had set out to do, and now the Triforce was in their hands; what better way to do it than by the Triforce itself? In other games (WW is the only one I can think of) another character was nearby to give the game some dialouge, and in Zelda 1 we never got more than two or three sentences at a time anyway, so it wasn't nessicary. It just gave the ending a nice touch and a sense of completion, as well as causing you to feel special because, "Hey, the Triforce is talking to me??"

I think the main reason is because the triforce is supposed to be like a sacred artifact. Plus in the other games, there was always someone else telling the story about it. You wouldnt really expect to just walk up to the triforce and have a conversation with it. It doesnt go along with the story.

The hero in Kodai no Sekiban, one of the BS Zeldas, had the title "Hero of Light". Not LttP Link.

Now, the Triforce in ALttP doesn't tell about itself, that's in the begining of the game. But it is the only game where Link is all alone with the Triforce, and that would seem empty to just have it end there. There needs to be that falling action.

The essens talks a little in the beginnig in the Oracle series....

To be honest, I thought the Triforce speaking was a bit of a dumb idea. It's supposed to be just an object, not sentinent of anything like that. I mean, the whole point of it doing evil is because it is has no mind, and can't tell the difference between evil wishes and good ones, that's why Ganon can cause so much evil with it.

Originally, in the Japanese version, it didn't say anything about the Triforces lack of the ability to judge the difference of good and evil being related to its being inanimate, which leads me to believe it has more to do with the idea that nothing less than God (or godesses, in this case) can truly judge right and wrong. In fact, about every sentence of ALttP was poorly translated. Even the title. Actually, ESPECIALLY the title. "Triforce of the Gods" sounds nicer AND actually makes sense. Some really interesting changes; there are some that aren't only changes but things made opposite. Fascinating. Also, I think that The Essence of The Triforce only being in ALttP is nothing more than coincidental, really. I don't see how it could be much more. It doesn't "die" or anything.
