Pretty much my question is, would you want an older-styled zelda game to be released?

I say just playing A Link to the Past again if you are looking for a game like it. I mean, really? You want a brand-new game to feature a style to appeal to old school gamers? I think you're missing the point of games like ALttP even existing.

Played ALttP when you were growing up? Good, you can play it again now. Never played an old school game before? Go ahead and pick one up. You know how you mentioned WiiWare? Well, you can get the first 3 Zelda titles on Virtual Console just as easily. I don't really know why you would continue to rely on Nintendo to make new games just like old ones.

I'd kill for this...but I sincerely doubt Nintendo would even consider it.

I greatly enjoyed the 2D Zelda games. I would be really excited if a new one would be announced. Just imagine what it would be like. I enjoyed PH but i still prefer the 2D style. I hope that Spirit Tracks changes the idea of 3d Handheld Zelda games. Can't wait.

Well they are doing the New Super Mario Brothers Wii and why wouldn't they consider doing a Zelda like that?

They kind of already did... NSMB is to the Mario franchise as FSA is to Zelda... An old-school styled, multiplayer oriented game... But it didn't keep so close to the Zelda formula, as it wouldn't work so well in a multiplayer game (dividing the game in stages make it easier to make it multiplayer).

And, as much as a Wii/DSi Ware Zelda would be nice, did Nintendo ever make a Wii/DSi Ware game?

I want A Link to the Past to be remade like this.... That would be awesome...

What if they made a brand new game in 8-bit format, like megaman 9? That could be pretty cool.

Things don't need to be 3D to be fun/great. Look at New Super Mario Bros for the DS, it's amazing x.x
