I mean, espeacially in the Fire temple, dodongos cavern, (and the the random screeching of something and the bats...) all gave me chills at night. they all make me claustrophobic in the temple, which i guess was the aim of it. Anyone else agree? I also think that they didnt need to make it so creepy. Look at TP's music, thats not nearly as creepy or scary. Anyone else agree?
Some of the music in Ocarina is a tad creepy, but that depends on what it can take to creep you out.
The chanting from the Fire Temple is a tad chilling, but the new music isn't since the chanting was removed.
The newer fire temple music is creepier i think. The moaning thing that goes eeeeyeeeeyeeeyeeeeyeeeeyeeeeyyeeee is just urgggg then the ladies go ahhhhaahhhhaahhhhaa... i just shuddered thinking of it!
Ocarina's temples had really great atmospheres that ranged from mildly relaxing to really unnerving. Even when the songs weren't so impressive per se, they all did evoke very powerful atmospheres, and some of those were very creepy.
Not as young link...
As old Link, the forest temple is sorta weird on that one part that sounds like Patrick Star chanting while doing aerobics in the last room.
I've never played the N64 version, but I guess in the Fire Temple the EEEeeyA-EEEeeyA-EEEee-e is sorta weird...The less said about the shadow temple the better.
I really like the choices made in most of the Temples in OoT. Yes they are all rather creepy but what do you expect? You enter a passageway behind a graveyard and you hear THIS, and yes while that place did scare me half to death I was glad for it. I like getting that sort of a reaction from video games.
Well, its obvious that the music combined with the atmospheres made an impact on everyone which is the aim of any game. There is a reason its been hailed as one of the best games ever made.
If anything, I think the music really evoked the sense of evil that entered these temples. Remember that they were supposed to be TEMPLES. Which I always interpreted as places of peace. Now that they are infected with these dark beings, they probably are a bit creepy.
Also, referring back to the temple idea, its almost like walking into a church, especially the older ones. While they are meant to be "houses of god" and such, I've always found something rather foreboding about them. Even though your voice echoes in the big empty space, you still almost feel claustrophobic. Ahh.. I'll get off the rant now...
I think that one temple music is creepy and one temple alone and that would be the FOrest Temple. All the sounds in the corridor when its quiet send chills down my spine. On top of that would be that random yelping noise when you seem to enter rooms just scares the socks off my feet. But other than that the temple music really is not scary.
When comparing the Shadow Temple's music to the Forest Temple's music, the latter wins to me. Both are ominous but the Forest Temple's theme music makes the temple seem gloomier than it is. Not just the music, but it's probably my favorite temple. The Shadow Temple is creepy, too, don't get me wrong.
