Link's Awakening (i know its a handheld..read the thread)

I was playing LA and it is very good...but I think it should have been made on the SNES! After all this is a sequel to AlttP and the game is EPIC

Who else agrees with me?

it def would have been sic on the super nes.
the images would have been full blown better.
with the instruments, wind fish, the home town, and beaches.
i do agree with you.
(even tho links awakening was the first zelda i ever played)
i guess they needed a release on the game boy as well so they didnt over do it on the snes.
it came out only a year a half after link to the past.
it gets you thinking tho.

i just found my LA, and i wanted to play it so bad, butttt, i just found out my DS can't play games that old.
So i was like... wtf~_~
But i have my GBA SP and my regular GBA somewhere, so ill find them^_^
but, is it worth it? like is the game good?

Link's Awakening is a really good game. It's probably the best out of all of the handhelds, if you ask me. I've played it multiple times over. It's fairly challenging as well, so it will probably keep you entertained for a while.

I would LOVE to see this game on the SNES. It rocks already, but, think of it on console! No, even better, on GCube or something! But, seriosly, if LA was on SNES, it would pwn OoT, and come second on my top 5 games. After WW of course.

Yeah, it would've been awesome.
I like the whole feel of ALTTP.
They definitely should've made LA for the snes

I hate the way EVERYTHING has to be on the freaking Wii these days, so I am all for it being remade on handheld with the A Link's to the Past's graphics. No, the Four Swords Advetnures graphics, which were freaking beautiful - like a combination ot A Link to the Past graphics and The Wind Waker's graphics = WIN.

I just figured WiiWare was good for a remake of a GB game. The game is likely too small for most people to want to pay full price for.

thats not even close to a solution.
its still the same game/graphics.
just on your big screen.
were talking about a graphic/game boost and whatnot if it was on the snes.

Do you think the DSI will have it's own VC? If so i'd like to buy LA, i never beat it and i lost my GBA.

It might have been good, but might not. Personally, I prefer La's normal graphics. If they were dofferent, the graphics for handheld Zeldas may be very different. I just like La as it is.

I liked it one Gameboy. Doesn't need better graphics. And I think Link's Awakening was the first Zelda game for many people because it was on the Gameboy, and they hadn't previously owned any gaming console. That was the case for me.

Plus, the way the camera would jump from one screen to another added a subtle sense of... mystery, maybe, that I didn't feel while playing A Link to the Past or the newer 2D Zeldas.

what are you referring to exxactly?

As in the map was done screen by screen, square by square. No rolling camera on the mainworld.

Link's Awakening is my second favourite after MM.

I like it fine on GB. I like LA's gameplay more than ALttP's and it has better sword detection (that's assuming ALttP's gameplay would carry over if its graphics did like how the Oracles series did). LA as it is, is what made the Oracle series that I also came to love. This isn't the first handheld Zelda game that is a sequel to the console one, PH is another. To me, LA is far superior to PH and I'm of the opinion that handheld Zeldas should remain in 2D. :\ Or for the DS to use N64 Zelda's graphics (no bird-eye view BS) that is possible because DS exceeds the power of the N64. Anyway, sorry to derail. Carry on.
