Does Ruto Really Deserve all her Hate?

She became infatuated with Link when he rescued her. Wouldn't you?

When Shiek rescues her from under the ice 7 years later, she risks it all to go ot the Water Temple and rescue her kind.

I think she's a noble person who is a little bit obsessed with Link. I doubt she deserves everyone painting her as a creepy stalker who only thinks about Link and nothing else. I mean he did sort of propose to her, she expects him to keep his promise. She's also quite pretty.

Conclusion: Ruto is not a stalker and actually has a life outside of Link.

Stalker or not, she's still a bit of a female dog.

I really didn't care about Ruto and her love for anything because she scared me when I had to rescue her from Lord Jabu Jabu

I like her. She is funny with all of her moodswings. She also runs funny. I liked Ruto.

Well.. Ruto was alright until I--trying to be a hero--proceeded to carry a young Ruto through the bowels of Jabu-Jabu... and I, being awkward in the face of an onslaught of electrically charged enemies.. panicked. And I threw her to safety. She yelled at me.

I don't really hate her... that part just annoys me a bit.

I like Ruto, personally. I can vaguely remember being annoyed by her at first, but by now, I'm only slightly "eh" about her infatuation with Link. I think it's kind of sweet. Childish affection turned into romantic love.

But I haven't played that part of the game in a while, I'm not the best person to ask.

Not word for word, butttt...you get the point. She was spoiled, wanted things her way...hated her, still do. I think she's far too childish for Link.

I hate Ruto...in jabu-jabu´s belly I would always get mad at her and hit her with the slingshot but it never hurt her

I disliked her at first, as a child. She would talk you down and treat you like her servant and as if you were doing this just to have the "honour to be with her", because she's the daughter of the King of Zoras.

I have no reason to think she grew up to keep with that attitude. Even if she gave you a lecture when you found her, she was worried for the other Zoras and helped you there without hesitation, being proactive. Later on, she respected Link when she realised finding Zelda was his main concern. Even if she was still in her own bubble about it, she still knew how to take her priorities right, in that way, she seemed more mature to me, than the little girl expecting you do to everything and not taking long in it.

I don't hate her overall, but I don't love her either, hahah.

I love Ruto. There is one thing I don't like. She decided she'll marry to Link, but she should ask Link first, right? That wasn't too nice, but was funny, so I still like her. And anyway, who hates Ruto, because she is obsessed with Link, that's just jealousy.

I actually never noticed any major amount of hate among the fan base for her, not that I don't think there are characters less-deserving that seem to receive more or at least as much as the OP implies. I don't much give two *****s myself over her, but I wuold say she fit her description in the strategy guide as a little stubborn.

She just uses the whole resucue thing as an excuse.

Ruto kinda annoying to me, as she basically wanted to be carried everywheres and was careless and obnoxious as a child. Thank god in master quest you only had to carry her in one room excluding the ocotorok room. As an adult she matured a little, but still a little odd.

Ruto seems like comic-relief in the Child side of OoT, she IS was meant to have a more serious role in the Adult portion in the game and many gamers don't seem to realize that.

I love Ruto! I think she's a really deep character for (OoT). While she is very much a brat as a little girl, this seems to be just one facet of her personality (Link soon earns her respect, and after one or two backhanded compliments, she soon becomes much more friendly and affectionate). Plus I like how she's as plucky as Link. Who else would go running into a dungeon, even if it is fish guts?

Once she grows up, she loses her bratty personality, and once being rescued, races off to tackle the Water Temple and Morpha, to save her people. It's quite sad that she acknowledges she can no longer be with the man she loves, when she becomes a sage.

She was not the worst character ever but was extremely irritating to me. The infatuation was quite creepy.

Well it is kind of unfair to compare them... considering how many years and graphical updates lie between them. The only thing that came close to weirding me about her was the shape of her head.... it just made me think of a Triceratops. (She actually reminds me of Cera from the Land Before Time actually.)

Yes, but I'm saying if they redid OoT for the Wii or something, Ruto would look very pretty, Triceratops headaside. You have to admit she does have quite pretty eyes.
