When I was inside Ganon's Castle, beating the Temple-rooms, I noticed that it was kinda wind-themed, although the Forest Temple doesn't have anything with wind in it.

I heard the Water Temple was originally going to be the Ice Temple. But they seem to have converted the ice themed puzzles into the Ice Cavern, and the Water Barrier chamber in Ganon's castle is still very ice themed (ice just being frozen water.)

The Forest Temple was originally the Wind Temple. (Hence the fans and wind theme in the Forest Barrier chamber in Ganon's Castle.) Also the Forest Medallion is green (it seems the colour for the wind in Japan is green, as a lot of games follow this. Plus the forest symbol greatly resembles a styilzed pinwheel.) The Wind Temple really resembles the Forest Temple.

Maybe the reason for this change was the Kokiri and the Zora? Perhaps it would be easier to design a doman and tribe that revolved around plants and the forest, then a flying/wind based one? Or an aquatic tribe then a icy one?

Mind you this might be slightly irrelivent, as Fado, a Kokiri female was originally going to be the Wind Sage, but was replaced by Saria. Or so I am told. But on the other hand, ice is hostile to Zoras, so I can't imagine Ruto being a sage of a substance that is actually lethal to her and her tribe.

Spinout says that the Sacred Forest Meadow used to be in a a island floating in the sky.
the Zora's were Cold-Water creatures in Beta.
there was a character named Aria, Malon is based on her.
Aria was supposed to give the player hints, she appeared in LonLon Ranch, Lake Hylia and Hyrule Castle.

Octorocs were originally land based like in the 2D games, but were changed to water creatures to replace the Zoras.

The Zoras were changed from an enemy to a normal NPC when they decided an evil princess wouldn't make sense as a sage.

that make no sense, since judging what i have seen in OoT Beta, Aria didn't followed Link around like Navi did.

If you think the items were taken out think again. I have used an item modifier to get a few of the medallions. Trust me. They are still there in item form. The info is still in Japanese. That was a long time ago that I did that though. There are codes to bring a few things back. I do not base this info on opinion. I base this on experience. I have had many conversations with spinout on this beta material. But, as I was saying about the medallions. They were striped of all use they once held. They are merely icons now nothing more nothing less.

Time for me to clear all this up. OoT's Forest Temple went through three development stages.

A+B/A+C it was Hyrule Castle part 1.

A+C mixed to prerelease it was the Wind Temple (there was another wind temple before it though but, it was scrapped after A+C so this was the second wind themed temple).

During the final it became the Forest Temple.

You are correct but, it was still called the deku tree. It was however the first forest themed dungeon and it and the stalfos/skulltula dungeon was one of the first dungeons worked on. In A+B/A+C you obtained the Forest Medallion from the Deku Tree after defeating Gohma. The spiritual stones were not added til around late A+C mixed or prerelease. There was a wind medallion but, it along with the Ice Medallion didn't exist til A+C mixed. The Wind and Ice Temples in A+B/A+C served a different purpose.

what do you mean with the Old castle still being in OoT, you mean the the OoT Castle it's the same one from Zelda64(Beta)?
