Ah great, thanks for clarifying! I've got 1700 Wii points at the moment...more than enough to purchase the game. I think a new channel on my Wii is now officially reserved for Majora's Mask.

I do hope though (also for everyone who has already bought this for the VC) that the trouble with freezing that some people have been having is just a one-off, and that this game isn't simply a direct port of the Collector's Edition.

I just cleared the second dungeon, and I've yet to notice any problems at all. I'm even playing it from the SD card (If that makes a difference). I have noticed, however that the stray fairies look slightly different from how I remembered them on the original cartridge.

That's interesting. How are they different?

Edit: A review of the game has just appeared here: http://vc.nintendolife.com/reviews/2...irtual_console. It scored 10/10. The review didn't mention any problems with bugs or freezing.

When does America get its next VC update? I guess I'm a bit eager...

Heh... I still have to buy another Wii Points Card, since I've used up all 2000 points already. Eh, no rush.

America's VC update is every Monday, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. NoA has no reason to hold Majora's Mask back from us.

Shut up. I may be a Nintendo fan, but that doesn't mean I am always glued to Nintendo news.

Nintendo's Virtual Console has been slow on releasing 64 games for some reason. The US only has 15 different games. I am definately looking forward to buying this game

Ah, yeah. I noticed this too. It's the colors. I wasn't in any dungeon so far, but the stray fairy in clocktown has a glowing dark orange color, it looks cool. I don't remember exactly how it looked like in the N64 and CE versions, but it definitely didn't look so catchy. Yesterday I did the Kafei/Anju Quest to get the Postman's hat (I tend to do a lot of sidequests first before I go to the first dungeon, got 14 heart pieces so far ^^) and while I've been waiting at the water place where Kafei hides I spent most of the time watching the fairy... just because it looked so ... different. xD At first I thought it's just me, but now that nokotin said the same...

Been playing MM most of the day, and happy to report no lag or any problems!

Might be on to a winner here.

To everyone who played this on PAL virtual console, AND on the Collector's Edition, AND on the PAL N64:

How does the framerate hold up? Does it still run on 50hz, and if so, is the framerate exactly the same as the N64 and/or Collector's Edition version?

I'm thinking about purchasing this game, but I'm not sure if I should buy it on the VC or if I should buy the Collector's Edition...

^^I'd place my money on the VC version, because unlike a game disc VC games and Wiiware can receive patches or updates to fix any problems.

But Nintendo isn't known for patching their problems, if you know what I mean.

I'm really split, because the Collector's Edition appearantly has annoying sound glitches, but a good framerate, and the VC probably has no glitches, but a bad framerate.

Why can't we PAL players just play our VC games in 60 hertz?

Well, at any rate it's only ten dollars so, no matter what sound glitches or other glitches it has it's still worth the money.

Actually Nintendo has made patches for some VC games: Zelda: LttP, Star Fox 64, etc.

I don't really recommend the Collector's Edition. There is a really bad glitch where the game crashes and you lose any progress that wasn't saved.

Were those patches free to download, and would auto update any VC games you already have?
