Yeah... we already know about it. And sadly, it seems to be a direct port from CE.

You know, Virtual Console and Wiiware games can be patched and updated. Though I don't understand why they didn't fix these problems before the release.

It froze! Since when does the game freeze when you're hunting down THE FREAKING BOMBERS!
Are you serious? I've played through the entire first three days without any problems. No framedrops, no sound problems and no freezes. I will continue playing later this weekend, but so far I can't confirm what you said. Is it possible, that the European and Australian versions might be different?

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

Would you guys say that it's worth me purchasing the Virtual Console edition of this game if I already have it on the Nintendo 64? From the sounds of it, one advantage is that the game has sharper graphics, but a disadvantage is that the game might freeze...

(I'm very surprised that Majora's Mask has come out so soon after being announced as a Virtual Console game, actually. I thought it would probably come out much later in the year.)

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

It still freezes? Nintendo honestly, this is pathetic. Way to turn an amazing VC release into a cash in of another bugged, broken version of the game, which will not be patched.

I really thought they would completely fix it. No longer excited or buying.

I haven't had an problems with it yet, if anything it seems superior to the N64 version. I don't know why I bothered buying it though as my N64 is hooked up to the same TV.

Very much serious. Although the game has calmed down considerably (music has returned to normal, no freezing). This all happened in the first two-three hours of the game being downloaded. I've been playing it most of the night and there haven't been any noticeable changes in the game thus far. So might be in the clear for now. We'll just have to wait and see.

The game has lagged a little bit in some parts, but nothing that is really noticeable.

I would imagine that the Aus/Europe versions would be identical to each other, but I can't be 100% sure on that.

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

This is very perplexing. BlueWolf is claiming to have problems as bad as, if not worse than, the CE edition. But TourianTourist says his version is running perfect and smooth, just like the N64 version.

Still, the mixed performance makes me look forward to its NA release just a little bit less.

I' ve bought MM from VC today, and it works very well. There are no freezes or other bugs. So, the austrailian and the europian version are different...

Depends on if every Australian is having these issues with Majora's Mask on the VC. Or there might be a different cause, why BlueWolf's version lags and others not. BlueWolf, do you have the latest system update?

And more reports would be nice... only three people from Australia and Europe here in these forums, who've downloaded the game? I couldn't find anything useful in other forums either.

However, I've played two hours today, most of them in Clocktown and Termina Field doing sidequests, without any problems. And on the CE version Clocktown was the worst for me, especially when switching from one area to another. VC version on the other hand runs smooth, no complaints so far from my side.

I guess it all depends. My CE version never froze but once. Yes, it did have that problem with music slowing down (mainly Clock Town), but other than that, I was surprised when I came to this board and heard many people complain that CE's MM would freeze from time to time.

People keep telling me that it wasn't released in Australia or New Zealand. Okay, I really want a real confirmation on this right about now...

Hmm. Maybes me wonder what you said though.

Yeah I do have the latest system update. Unfortunately I don't know anyone else who has downloaded MM over here so I can't say if it's just my download or if it's Australia wide. I'll keep playing it this weekend and report back on how the game is going.

So far, it just me who's having any problems with this VC version?

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

I've been playing since last night when it came out, first dungeon is cleared and didn't had any problems at all, no crashes, freezing or slowdowns. Let's hope it keeps that way. Try downloading it again, maybe you have a corrupt file or something like that.

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

I just cleared the second dungeon, and I've yet to notice any problems at all. I'm even playing it from the SD card (If that makes a difference). I have noticed, however, that the stray fairies look slightly different from how I remembered them on the original cartridge.

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

At the risk of sounding repetitive, I'll ask again: those of you who have purchased the Virtual Console edition of Majora's Mask and have played the original Nintendo 64 edition, do you think that it's worth owning both editions of the game? Is the VC edition a significant improvement over the Nintendo 64 edition?

Yes, the VC version uses a larger resolution and has much sharper graphics. I own all three versions of the game and so far I wouldn't want to miss the VC one.

Well, I'm already convinced that the European version may not be a port of the CE.

I'm hoping that the American release won't be a port either....

Re: Majora's Mask coming for Virtual Console

This was the only game I ever really wanted on vc. I would use the rom and emulator if it ran smoothly. I have the original but if I hook my n64 up to my hdtv it looks like saturated crap to be honest. I hope the vc version doesn't have any bugs.
