How Old Is Ocarina of time Young Link?

He's 10 years old, I've got evidence out of the game itself right here:

This is a screenshot of the debug version of Ocarina of Time that I took with an emulator.
His age is specified right there in the bottom left corner of the screen where you switch between young and adult Link. 10 as a child and 17 as an adult.

huh that's weird I always thought he was 12 or something but hey the proof is right there

That's great and I think that's proof enough. Looks like Nintendo Power wasn't wrong. I don't think TWW should be proof that Young Link's age is 12 since it takes place in the adult timeline, where OoT's Young Link never was. TWW happened a long time after OoT anyways, so they naturally would be a few years off.

I feel like for some odd reason, I know He's ten years old. Which would make him seventeen as an adult.

Even the game maual says adult when you look at certain items that only adlut link can use same goes for child link but it says child link instead.

Are you sure the code for that screen is from the game's ROM? Not from some tacked-on layer of the downloaded version?

Wait, forget what I said. I made a little research on the debug rom and found out that the age was changed from the real Japanese version (the one I use is a fan-translation.)

He's actually FIVE years old:


His adult age was still 17 though, which doesn't make any sense, so we can only assume that his age was changed during the course of development. Young Link was either changed to a ten years old or they both had their age changed evidence seems to suggest the former.

I can't know for sure, maybe some extremely skilled rom-hacker made this thing up, but I doubt it.
There's way more than just a stage select; unused maps, models, animations and debug features.
Some of the stuff could be seen in early beta screenshots, like the stalfos room and the beta great fairy. I even think someone was able to unlock the blade beam attack.
These things can definitely not be found in the official released of the game.

When I looked ROM up on Merriam it said Romany, married man, husband, male Gypsy, from Sanskrit ḍomba, ḍoma low caste male musician.

He looks anywhere from 7 to 10 to me. Probably 9 or so.

I once heard someone say young link was 5 and old link was 12. 5? Link can't be 5. Theres no way a 5 year old could use a sword. Also, Young Link looks no where near 5. Also, 12 is not adult.

No he must be 10 its sure,we have the proof and he does look like a 10 years old.
