What is harder shadow temple or water temple?

I'd say in terms of difficulty, both are equal. However, the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time required you to be on your feet all the time, while the Water Temple could be taken very slow. That made Shadow Temple a lot easier because it was fun, while Water Temple was boring and sloooow.

That's interesting. I thought the shadow temple was just as challenging as the forest,fire, and spirit temples. I, like many people thought the water temple was really hard, but the shadow temple never stuck out to me as exceptionally difficult. I always thought is was way awesome. I loved Bongo-Bongo to, I love that boss fight so much, I didn't even mind when Wind Waker blatantly copied it in the God's Tower. I was like Yay, Bongo-Bongo V 2.0!!

i dont know the water temple had harder puzzles bu the shadow temple had harder enemys....personally i think the shadow temple....i freakin hate bongo bongo ive beet the game 8 times adn its till freakin hard to beat him

The shadow temple scared me at first, and was hard with all of the ghosts popping out of nowhere.

But I say the water temple was harder because of all the back tracking

Anyway, I reckon both of them of were quite easy. I'm not saying that I did them straight away, just that they're easy. Water Temple is very easy apart from Dark Link because tedious doesn't mean it's hard; it's just annoying, how you have to recheck and stuff. The only exeption to this is Dark Link, and perhaps, after you beat him, avoiding the small mini-maelstroms/vortexes.

Shadow Temple had a lot more fighting, but thy were all easy fights. (But the music and the appearance freaked me out *cries*) So I reckon Shadow Temple was very easy.

But you should try both of those temples in Master Quest! (it's HARD)

The water temple no doubt. It had so many puzzles and different stuff.

Water Temple, hands down, no contest. However, the end-of-temple boss in Shadow Temple was a lot harder, I'll give it that (it even killed me the first time around).

The Shadow Temple is like the easiest dungeon in the game.

EDIT: It's still one of my favorites though, Bongo Bongo is win.

Shadow temple. I got so stuck at the end.

Now that I look it at, the Water Temple is much more challenging than the Shadow Temple. The Shadow Temple was quite linear and didn't require as much backtracking as the Water Temple.

Definately the Water Temple. I couldn't stand to constantly having to switch the water level over and over again.

I'd say they were both pretty darned difficult for me, although for two completely different reasons...

The Water Temple was just plain rip-your-controller-in-half frustrating, but it WAS do-able.
The Shadow Temple terrified my child self to the extent where I avoided the N64 for a month. The hard part of that was knuckling down and actually doing it.

Water Temple. Shadow Temple was more on the Oh F*** side f anything because of its freakiness. The Water Temple took me ages and was so annoying. But it did have its freaky side...a zora princess asking to marry you

Neither is difficult, but the Water Temple is just confusing.

Neither one of them is hard. You just have to remember where you have been in the water temple, more trying in there. Shadow temple is more linear so you can't go much wrong there.

The water temple had multiple locked doors for each key you got, then later you got the keys to unlock the others, which I find difficult. I find it interesting that you put the Shadow Temple as the other to Water, you should have picked Forest or Spirit. The Shadow Temple was extremely straightforward, each room essentially had two exits, one was locked, the other had the key. If you had the Lens of Truth (especially if you know the trick to use almost no magic power for it) you could essentially see the path to the boss.

Shadow Temple is EASY for me. Even the first time I played it. Water Temple is extremely complex, with the mechanisms and water everywhere and blah blah blah!! AHH! It can drive a person nuts! But I love it XD
