Good Point. Only if you had that blue fire to thaw King Zora before descending more into the cave. If you have Blue Fire, talked to Sheik, THEN thaw King Zora, well, that answers your question.

How would Jabu Jabu swim away? The top of the waterfall was barred off, and when your there as an adult it remains barred. (No signs of an escape). The fountain had no exits besides the one to the throne room.

Oh yeah, something was blocking the store.

I find it hard to believe that Lord Jabu-Jabu is trapped in the big block of ice near the entrance to the Ice cavern. The block of ice is not big enough. If he died in there, there would be a skeleton or something of that sort. Since there isnt anything like that, the only logical conclusion is that he got out of Zoras fountain somehow.

I always thought that looked like somewhere in the Lost Woods.
Because if you actually go outside Link's house, look behind it and there's a wall.
The only thing behind that wall is the Lost Woods.

If Jabu-Jabu is in that block of ice, why oh why is there absolutly no clue, or reference of any sort to that conclusion? I never claimed that it was a fact that Jabu-Jabu somehow got away.
Bear in mind that hyrule is a strange land. Who knows what powers Jabu-Jabu himself could have been hiding? Why would the Zoras worship and care for a great fish if it wasnt special in some way? King Zora described Jabu-Jabu as their guardian, so it seems likely to me that he has the best chance of escape out of all the creatures that dwell around Zoras Domain.

Hmm I once put in a fanfic that Ganondorf had gone off and made love with a Hylian woman. The woman got pregnant and had Link. His hair is more gingery than Zelda's (could just be variation but this is a 64-bit game, and there isn't much variety in hair colour for anything else,) and also if Gerudo women can have fully gerudo babies with Hylians, maybe that if a Gerudo has a child, it takes the race of the mother. Probably compeltely off though, but it made a good story-line.

I'd like to know though, what the bird was about in the shadow temple, and why there was such a theme on death, like the ferry to the underworld and the guillotines and the torture chambers. Oh and a big grim reaper statue.

The shadow temple reminded me of Indiana Jones films...I wonder if there was a link?
I mean with the walls which close in and the leap of faith. Hey that was my first thought anyway.
And maybe a joke taken at greek mythology with the never-sinking never-ending ferry to the underworld across the river styx.

Mark's theory: There's a sign you can read or Pierre the Scarecrow is nearby, play the Scarecrow's Song and he'll appear, giving you a place to aim your hookshot or a Rare Red Fairy is near, play either the Song of Storms or the Sun's Song to make it appear. The Red Fairy replenishes both Health and Magic Power.
