Smile The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

Ok, so we all know how in OOT the Gerudo people are of the 'eastern desert wastelands' or whatever..surrounded by burning sands and whatnot...When in MM the Gerudo people are switched to a seafaring race, where they are more like pirates with boats and all. Yes, they are pretty awesome in both games, but does anyone find that strange how they went from the desert to sea..? Yeah, I know, they didn't have time to make too many new charactors for the game, so they just moved the charactors around the board, but while it's a smart switch it's kinda funny too...How do you all feel about this?

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

Its also kind of strange that the Gorons went from a volcanic mountain race in OoT, to a snow capped mountain race. I think that Nintendo did this on purpose to show that Termina is actually another dimention. Termina = opposite of Hyrule.

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

it's not a matter of certain cultures evolving, Termina is in fact a parrellel world to Hyrule, in hyrule, the gerudo's are desert nomads, but in Termina, the gerudo's exsist as sea faring pirates. so yea, CDX is basically correct, Termina is a world of pseudo opposistes and paradoxes.

Not really. Because when you think about it, it turns out it is snowy because Skullkid did that. They still love warm places!

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

i dont think that termina was as much a paradox form of hyrule as just a country that worked differently. there were still the 4 basic races: hylian (or terminean if u prefer cuz they are in terminia), deku (not the kokiri but the deku were still a part of OoT), the gorons, and the zora.keep in mind that they were in a different country. maybe this was a different clan of gerudos! they dont have to be the exact same people to be a gerudo. they were just a different group of them within the race!

I don't think they ever referred to them as Gerudos in Majora's Mask. They called them them Thieves or something.

Well then, you just solved the problem! *congratulates Alejan* Termina's Gerudo are similar to Hyrule's Gerudo because they both steal for a living.

Termina and Hyrule are parallel world which means things should be the same in those two worlds: Gerudo are thieves in both worlds.

It's true what you say, the snow was a curse to the Gorons. So we have another parallel thing in both worlds: Gorons like warm places.

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

I actually think the fisherman who wants the picture of the gerudo called them 'gerudo pirates'.
I also think the gerudo would have chosen to live by the ocean. They had to live in a desert in OoT because they had no choice but i'm sure they would have taken an ocean over a desert any day.
It says nowhere the gerudo enjoy the desert, in fact Ganondorf wanted the triforce originally to give life to his people due to the conditions they endured.

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

and if you think about it, the first Gerudo challenge was to pass the “sea” of sand, and now they’ve gone to an actual sea. I don’t know, but I always thought that was ironic.

Not true. Skullkid made it snow for a long time. It actually snows regularly on that mountain, but ends at spring. Like I said before, Skullkid just made it snow longer, which made them miserable cause they love warm places.

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

I am only trying to maintain a sense of neutrality on this, but...

I believe that some of you are not looking at the 'big picture.'

Let's say, for a second, that Hyrule and Termina ARE parallel worlds.
Say also that I am holding a coin, If I hold it in front of you, and ask you what you see, will you say Heads or Tails? The answer, my friends, is obvious: NO. There is only difference between the sides because that is what you are looking for, you are looking for what IS different (which, unfortunatley, all of us tend to do.)

Also, to contradict myself, there is valid reason for them not to believe in the Triforce. I believe that there is another reason for the contraversy that is the 'FOUR SWORD.' I believe that the Four Giants must have given Special powers to the Gilded sword, giving it the potential to become the Four Sword, unfortunately for my theorum, the Picori Sword that became the Four Sword looks like... (Drum roll please) the MASTER SWORD!

So that was my theory for why there is no true mentioning of the triforce in Majora's Mask. The people there do not belive in a balance between Three Forces, they believe in Four.

Please remain seated until the ride has come to a complete stop and thank you for flying "Twisted Ideas Airlines". Have a nice day...

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

They were never refered to as the "Gerudos" if my memory serves they were just called the pirates. I honestly didn't like the parrallel idea thing that much. It was a little confusing.

Re: The Gerudo from desert to sea...?

I liked the parallel worlds. I thought it was really interesting and clever how they everything was intertwined like that. All the references to the sea and the sea of sand are really good.
Do you think that is a coincidence or did Nintendo really put that much thought into the whole sea/sea of sand thing? Nevertheless, it's interesting.

Clever, yes. Lazy, yes. I personally would have much rathered an OoT sequel, but then again MM was fun to play, however it lacked the passion andmagical appeal of OoT. This could be hoghlited by my favourite parts of the game, being the Zelda flashback, and Link returning to the lost woods.
