Koume and Kotake

In OoT, you meet Koume and Kotake (well you see them) when you are Young Link. You also meet them in MM as Young Link. But if MM takes place 3 months after OoT, this means they either took a break and went to Termina for a holiday before Link became an adult or they exist in Hyrule and Termina. And if they exist in both, this means Hyrule and Termina are NOT in the same world.

It's a parrellel dimension where most of the people in Hyrule have doubles in Termina. There are stories about evil twins from alternate dimensions, and it's kind of like that. The difference is that the characters aren't opposites.

How did link get into the alternate dimension?

He fell down a hole and went through a warp tunnel, DarkCleric. You know the one that goes upsidedown? I think this signifies that he's gone into another world.

No. Link and Epona venture in to some, what could possibly be, uncharted deep areas in a forest, runs in to the skullkid thats aware of a cave/hole that links to the parallel world of Termina. Skullkid steals Epona, Link chases, and he goes in to the cave, and down the hole, which warps him to Termina.

The Koume and Kotake you see in Termina are different ones.

They are meant to be doubles in Termina, parallel selves, and everyone knows Termina is a different dimension anyway. The real issue here is that they were running out of time, and didn't have enough time to make more character sprites. So a lot of the sprites are the same, just different personalities, and of course, Nintendo covered up the fact that they ran out of time!

I said MOST didn't I? Zelda doesn't have a double over there either. The overworld is vastly different, but the point is that the witches in Termina aren't the same women that are in Hyrule.

I believe in OoT they were called the Twinrova sisters weren't they? Or were their names displayed as Koume and Kotake... I don't remember. And where is it said that MM took place 3-months after OoT? -I would like to see it.

If you Z-Target the Twinrova sisters while fighting them in OoT, their names show up. And I'm just theorizing, but maybe Dark Link came from Termina, as Link's opposite, and somehow managed to get into Hyrule?

In the last Tepmple in Oot don't you fight them both? You know the whole fire and ice and Mirror shiled thing...so than they are in the adult world? Or did we already cover that.

Hold it for a second. Refresh my memory, when was Koume and Kotake in MM? (I can't remember at all).
But for the record, at the end of OoT, they die and ascend to the heavens. Although their death takes place in the future as adult Link.

Koume and Kotake in MM were the people who lived in the swamp with the Deku palace and the monkeys. You know, you had to give one (Koume, I think) the Red Potion by following the monkeys?

And, as others have said, it is simply because Nintendo didn't have the time to use new character designs, so they used the old ones. Then the parallel world rumor started. Come on people, Parallel World could simply mean something like the New World and Old World! It's probably just on the other side of the planet, or somethin'!

No, I do not agree with the alternate dimention theory.

It isn't a rumour though is it? It states it in the majora's mask manual at the very start if I recall correctly, that it is a parallel universe. And I think that is also where the time statement of 3 months is mentioned.

As for Dark Link derivin from Termina, no, he is simply an evil creation by Ganondorf.

In the beginning, it says the game takes place months after his first quest ended.

BINGO! Ok now I remember.

theres all sorts of ideas... 1) maybe when link came back in time, their paths lead them somewhere else, 2) theyr'e diffrent people, 3) "maybe they were on a vacation!!" lol.. simply i dont think theres a spicific answer to this.. but it a good idea that i once thought off.

Yes but to be fair, you see EVERY charecter from Zelda in MM for the most part right? I'm assuming it's like another world.
