Majora's Mask: Town Shooting Gallery vs Swamp (difficulty)

The Town Shooting Gallery and the Swamp Shooting Gallery are arguably the two hardest mini-games in Majora's Mask, or even all 3D Zelda's. Both test the player's skill with the bow, requiring outstanding speed and accuracy. Both award quivers for a decently high score, but even higher scores are required for the Heart Pieces that each mini-game offers.

As the title suggests, which mini-game did you find more difficult. Feel free to share whatever experiences and opinions you have on the game, but please base your answer in the poll based off of (grammar fragment?) difficulty, rater than the amount of fun or entertainment the games provide.

Personally, the Town Shooting Gallery was more challenging to me. You have to hit 50 ♥♥♥♥ing Octoroks in 1:15. Each set stays up for only 5 seconds, and some sets, especially the later ones, allow absolutely NO room for error. As expected, hitting a Blue Octorok or missing ONE red one means you have already failed.

The Swamp Shooting Gallery is also difficult as well. The targets are much smaller, and you need at least 7:01 left on the clock for the heart piece. Once you get a decent strategy down and learn to work diligently (easier said than done), it isn't that bad. To alleviate frustration, there are a good deal of rupees always waiting right outside the shop. The Town Shooting Gallery is not as forgiving.

Overall, though, the Town Shooting Gallery is definitely the harder of the two in my experiences.

Bonus: What is the hardest 3D Zelda mini-game?

Town Shooting Gallery was the more challenging one. I guess it's because you have to have quicker reflexes because like you said, there's no room for error while in the Swamp Shooting Gallery, you had an opportunity to hit some of the targets that you've missed.

The town shooting gallery is MUCH harder than the swamp one. I'm really good with the bow in that game (but that comes from the 50-60 times I've played that game...) and I'll sometimes have to retry the town one but I'll always get the swamp one on my first try.

I have only play the town one and it was pretty hard. Specially because I am not pretty good with the bow in that game.

Bonus: I think almost everyone will agree in this but the hardes 3d Zelda game minigame is the Harp one in the Lumpy pumpking in SS

I have a 100% success rate with the town one, and I find the swamp one to be harder. In the town one, you can finish it using only left and right, the swamp one has you aiming in all directions that puts you more to the test with the bow. The swamp one is also harder if you're aiming for the highest humanly possible score (beyond 2500 points, try it).

This. I never fail at the town one. (Although I'm not aiming for the highest possible score)

I agree. They're easier to hit despite the time, and I like to think I'm not terrible with the bow.

BONUS: The hardest mini-game for me is probably in MM when 'They' come and try to abduct the cows. I don't know why, I just don't like having to run around and shoot things, and I never stop Epona on time.

Clock Town's Shooting Gallery isnt hard. At least not to me. I remember the first time i ever did it, i got the quiver on my first try. The Swamp one was tough for me for ages. For years i never beat it until one day i just sat there and figured out how to win. I actually find the that one to be funner too. Sometimes, ill still trip up unlike the Town one.

I have a strategy to that that im not sure anyone else does. I stay right in front of the barn and i am not on Epona. I have the Bunny Hood on and the bow ready and i watch the map and the lights of "Them" coming and snipe the guys as they are coming. That way, i can easily see the guy sneaking from behind the main house, coming and get him before he ever gets near the barn. That other one on the right side of the barn is easy to see from that vantage point. Theres also that rear end in a top hat that likes to come straight at the barn and if you use my strategy, you are always in front of him. I never move much at all. After using that, i never failed that mission.

I thought the swamp was waaaay harder. The Town Shooting Gallery only requires left/right movement. In the swamp you have to move around much more to get all the points.

Also. Hardest 3D Zelda minigame? Um.... Isn't it obvious?

You do not have to use Epona. Using her just makes it harder to aim. I normally do something like Florina who went for a time as the hound and I do not know her new strange name. You make sure you buy the romani ranch map,have the bunny hood and just look for "them" in the map. Also it is better you stand infront of the barn or between the barn and the house so you can rapidly head any direction when "They" begin to attack

I always stood on top of the box in front of the barn; I never lost.

The Town has the most overrated difficulty ever. I can clear that easily, as it just takes fine hand-eye coordination in order to beat (play and get 100% on Through the Fire and Flames Expert on Guitar Hero 3, then you'll have perfect hand-eye coordination) and as for the Swamp version, you need to just perfectly hit the small targets, some of which you may not know even are there, or are open for like a millisecond. So...yeah. Swamp.

I voted town shooting gallery.

But the hardest mini-game in 3D-Zelda is the goron race. And it's a nightmare with a malfunctioning joystick.

Goron Race is tricky but kinda fun. You gotta be able to get in front and stay in front but stay near the right side of the last two stretches....its not easy but i dont mind that one as much as i used to.

The Clock Town shooting gallery was always more difficult for me. Mostly because, with the Swamp one, you have second chances to hit the targets that you miss. With the town one, not only are you unlikely to get a second chance, but you're also likely to hit a blue octorok which pretty much destroys your chance of getting a good score.

I don't think I've ever failed the swamp one, now that I think about it...

On another note, I'd say the hardest archery game in all of Zelda is actually the PH one on Molida Island. I remember that taking hours for me.

The swamp one was harder, as been stated, all the town one requires is left-right movement. The Swamp shooting gallery both requires more movement and better/faster aim, because the targets are smaller and go away faster.
