I must disagree, the music in Sacred Grove was a gentle remix of the original Saria's Song, which created the feel that she was still in this woods, possibly as a spirit. Then, there's Skull Kid, who wasn't truly evil, but a mischievous imp who wanted to play a game. (Some even believe it is the same Skull Kid from OOT & MM, which is very special because it means he has met TP Link's ancestor.)

Um...let's not go into how much I love Zelda more than you, since you've only just joined these forums.

Mine was Kakariko Village, especially hanging out on Lake Hylia's fishing hole.

I don't see why the date someone joined ZU is a way to indicate who likes Zelda more than others. What is important is that we all like the same thing, really.

It wasn't aimed at how long windtune has been here, I was talking about how he/she doesn't know what a hardcore Zelda fan I am yet.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

I don't mean to play mod here, but lets' keep this about Ocarina of Time, not about how other games look better/worse. =/

For me, I actually really like the Zora's River leading up to the domain. Specifically, I like the area where the frogs are. It just seems like a place where I'd set up a camp site and hang out, definitely go for a swim every now and then. It may be a small area, but there's something about it that's just so calming. I guess I'm just a sucker for flowing water and waterfalls and stuff like that.

Well the game overall didn't have much atmosphere, this was especially due to the claustrophobia and weak design of the areas. They didn't let it shine on its own, they had to overcomplicate. Zelda fans understand because it's new and of course *better*, I understand that logic when you give all the supporting evidence, sure. But I moreso can tell the game tried in some ways to copy the zelda atmosphere and didn't really deliver as a whole, it was so divided, unbalanced and discordant. Like whoever the new designers were had no idea what they were making. There was soul missing in the characters and places. Ocarina was a much less frustrating more peaceful and soulful experience all around. The world layout was amazing and personal. That is why I had to comment on the degree of importance the form Ocarina had.

I can tell you're in to it like everyone else, maybe not as passionately as myself, but there's a lot of superficiality about video games there I think.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

@MYK1217 agreed. This is threatening to become a bit of a pissing contest.

For me it's gotta be Zora's Domain and Kokiri Forest. I love the music as much as Gerudo Valley but I think you get better chat from the villagers. At least until you can walk around Gerudo Valley without getting arrested I love the ranch but it's a bit big and empty for me to call it a favourite.

THIS NOT TO BECOME AN "I AM A BETTER ZELDA FAN THAN YOU" AND A TP HATE THREAD! STOP THAT OR FEEL MY SWORD!

Fave place in OoT? Hmmm....
I was fond of Kakariko Village especially the graveyard. I also love the Desert Colossus! Back Alleys of Hyrule Castle Town are great too.

Oooh yeah the back alleys rule! Any place with a fixed screen in castle town à la Resident Evil 1. It creates atmosphere. Those areas were always more detailed.

Oh boy, my favorite place?....Gerudo Canyon, Kokiri Forest, and Lake Hylia. I can't pin it down to one, but those were my favorite places to goof off.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

My favorite places in OoT change a lot. Currently I would have to say my favorite is Gerudo Fortress. For some reason it just seems to suit me and feels like a cool place to live.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

-Zora's Domain as a child. I remember the first time I went there, I just ran around in there for well over an hour. And then I really had to pee.
-Zelda's Courtyard because it's puuuuuuuuurdy and peaceful
-Gerudo Valley. If I had that awesome music playing somewhere 24/7, I wouldn't leave no matter what it looked like.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

My favorite place has always been the Forest Temple. The entrance specifically, and the court yards. Old buildings that have started to become overgrown have always appealed to me. Perhaps because it's like the earth is reclaiming that which had been built upon it.

I also liked the Lost Woods and Sacred Grove. I love forests.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

I think that my favorite place in OoT is Lon Lon Ranch because of it's coziness and safe feeling. Or the Castle Town as a child because of it's community structure. Either one.

Re: Favorite place in OOT?

I'm caught between Lon Lon, Kakariko, and Gerudo Valley. They were each awesome in their own respects. Lon Lon felt like a nice little rural space isolated from the rest of Hyrule with a vast open space for their horses to run around. Kakariko felt like a small town where everyone knows everyone. For example everyone knowing the cuccoo lady and her allergies to cuccoos. Then there's Gerudo Valley which was an area filled with kickass, desert-living, nomadic thieves armed with what looks to be naginata and dual scimitars.
