Majora's Mask on Wii....HELP!

So, I've started playing Majora's Mask on Wii. I'm using my gamecube controller, but i'm finding it difficult/impossible to access the "c" keys (like, used to talk to Tatl and whatnot). I don't know if I can use it at all?! Do i need to purchase classic controller?

Basically, the yellow control stick won't act as the usual yellow keypad. I'm hoping there's a way around this? Or do I just need to purchase a classic controller?

Are you sure that it's probably your controller? How old is it? I've never played a game downloaded for the Wii using the Gamecube controller, so I'm not entirely sure on what the issue is.

Perhaps purchasing the classic controller might fix the problem.

But the "c buttons" is the yellow c stick on the GCN controller.

As an alternative, I know that at least "X", "Y", and "Z" on a GC controller typicaly work (in this order) as up, down, and right on the C-buttons list. On the other hand, though, you would need the C-stick functionality to be able to play certain Ocarina songs and the like. A classic controller purchase might end up being necessary unless you purchase another GC controller that has a functioning C-stick. *shrug* Sorry to hear about that kind of a mess.

It's the yellow analog stick. To talk to tatl, press up when the option is given.

Y = C-left
X = C-right
Z = C-down
A = A

No button for C-up, the C-stick is mandatory for it.

^ Basically this. I found the C-stick to feel unnatural as well, but once I actually figured out that there are practically "C-buttons" for the C-stick commands, it felt a lot more natural.

Edit: And, I've never used an N64 controller. Just wanted to say that before you guys yell, "N64 fanboy" right at my face without knowing this.

seriously though the c stick is a little unnatural in the n64 games. there's a reason they used it as a camera stick in wind waker.

You can use the yellow stick on the GameCube controller, or use X,Y, and Z.

Off-topic, but has anybody noticed that X,Y,Z spells out "Examine your zipper??" Interesting ...

...considering that those buttons, I have never looked at in that order?...weird.

xyzpdq means examine your zipper pretty darn quick! we used to say that in early grade school when someone would forget their zipper open!

anyway. i usually use x and y for the item buttons. but when it comes to ocarina songs, i have to use the C stick. its just too weird using a non-clustered set of buttons to play a song
