Zelda: A Link to the Past.... for PC!

So, I am going to play this awesome game again. But the problem is that my Super Nintendo is broken. Whenever I play a game on it, all my saves gets deleted the next time I start it.

But I really do wanna play the game! So I just remembered how one person I know had it, the exacly same game for the PC. And I wonder, how do I get it? Can someone maybe post a good link and help me how I make it work? I guess it's not just to install, and I'm not that good with computers.

Thanks for your time!

Why not just use an SNES emulator? Works just fine.

No problem, hope it works fine with you. I've played aLttP, OoT, MM, Super Mario RPG... all on emulators (sadly, but hey. I'll get a Wii, soon).

Re: Zelda: A Link to the Past.... for PC!

Just one question. How does the save work? I went to the castle, got the lamp and did some stuff. Then I pressed "save state" and then "load" but when I click on the save file, named "Legend of Zelda, The - " (can't see the whole name, it's too long) nothing happens.

Could you maybe explain for me?

And remember. I'm not that good with computers.

See if there's an FAQ session on the emulator's site and look for it there. If that doesn't cut it, Google something like 'saving [emulator's name] how to'.

Re: Zelda: A Link to the Past.... for PC!

I googled it, and found something. But I'm doing as they say but it still wont work.

When I'm in the game, I do the following: Press State\Yes. When I do it a text shows up in the left corner, wish says the following "State 90 saved". So that means I saved.

Now, when I wanna load the save fil, I do the following: Game\Load. Now, there are 5 different "Legend of Zelda" wish I can choose between. But, only the one at the top works. When I press it I get's to the menu but my character isn't where I saved.
And when I press any of the other "Legend of Zelda" the ZSNES screen gets black and nothing happens.

So, I take the one at the top and starts the game. Then, I do the following: Game\Pick State and takes any random number (I tryed every number you can choose). And now I click on Game\Open State\Okey. But nothing happens.

Sorry if it's hard to understand. My text got kinda messy but tried to describe it as easy as possible.

A word of warning to everyone in this thread- you are not allowed to post links to anything related to emulators or ROMs. You may discuss them, but I don't want to see what has been occurring in this thread again. Next time I see this happening, infractions will be handed out. Piracy is against the rules.

...You coulda just downloaded it legally for 8 dollars from the Wii's VC... But whatever floats your boat I guess.

Congrats on getting the great game, though.

In a very technical approach I only linked to a video. It was the video itself that linked to illegalities. But I do apologize and will not repeat it, of course.
