Bombers code

On one of my MM files a while back my bombers code was 12345, I was just thinking, what are the odds of that.

I guess you were just lucky

If all the digits are random from 1-9, and there are 5 different digits all the time, that would make 5^9 total combinations.

5^9 = 1953125

So the odds of getting a specific combination (for instance 12345) approx 1 to 1954125 -- Not that I think they are actually completely random.

Wow thanks for that Anakin you are like some kind of math genius. Mine was 32451. I bet there are only like 5 or so different codes possible to get. And anakin it is only #'s 1-5. There wer only 5 kids.

ahem...isn't it supposed to be 9^5? if the numbers range from #1-9
i am gonne look stupid if i'm wrong but i've been staring at it for 30sec...so i should be right

Actually, the numbers are only 1-5, and you can only use each number once per code, so the number of permutions would be significantly less.

i dont want to be to hasty about this, becuse I totaly suck at this!
but i get it to 1 to 120!

Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the numbers are not random. The code you get it the order in which you find each bomber. So if your code was 12345, then that's because you taged #1 first, then #2, and so on. I'm pretty sure that's what determines your code. But I might be mistaken. I doubt it, but I might be.

No, I tried that once and it didn't work, it is random.

Hey i also got 12345 as the code of the bombers, weird.

Hehe, I guess it is just about as random as the password for entering the Pirate Ship in The Wind Waker.

Anyways, if the facts I put up was actually facts, that would be the odds -- Didn't even realise that each number can only come once.

well if each number can come once then the ods are 1 in 5! (5! = 5*4*3*2*1)

I'm pretty sure that the code isn't random. The code has always been in the order of the Bombers I caught.

no I think they stand in the correct order allready when they tell you the rules!

Well, they stand in the correct order at the beginning of the game, but after I've caught everyone they've always stood in the order that I caught them in.

That is correct, that are the actual odds of getting a specific number in the game.

Anyways, I have no clue whether or not the codes are random or not.

anyone feel like trying 5! times to see if the code changes? Doing it 5! times would take a looooong time....
