Re: Official NES/SNES/N64 Zelda Glitch Thread

There's a hilarious glitch in the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time. In the room before Dark Link with the Hookshot puzzle, you must land on the only platform not moving at a certain angle to get Link to spazz on the edge of it. He will keep doing it until you feel like trying to move him. With a bit of difficulty, he'll finally fall.
I don't know if it works on any version other than the N64.

I'm pretty sure that thing works with any stationary platform you can fall on.

Re: Official NES/SNES/N64 Zelda Glitch Thread

I have witnessed a freezing glitch in Majora's Mask. I know freezing glitches in this game are common, but this one was odd. When I shot Takkuri with an arrow, I hit him with another one as soon as his invincibility frame disappeared. It went to the Inverted Song of Time cutscene and froze.

Holy cow.

You can skip getting the light arrows and fighting Ganon/Ganondorf in OoT now. You can just warp to the credits.

It's been done. Don't know the steps though, has to do with wrong warping like how getting to the credits are shown in the above posts.

^Haha, that's awkward. All you have to do is wrong warp to the credits as an adult. It messes up the entire credits, like showing a glitchy Temple of Time and not showing the Master Sword in its pedestal.

Re: Official NES/SNES/N64 Zelda Glitch Thread

Skip (most) of the Forest Temple
I do not recommend doing this if you do not have the Bow yet since you won't be able to kill him without it. It works on the 3DS version only. (Because you need to use Triple Slash Clip)
Go near the door on the left side of the room with the handrails. Go near that little pillar thing next to the door on the right. Use Triple Slash Clip. Keep doing it until you go inside of the pillar. Walk backwards by L-Targeting until you start to fall. Then press B to do a jump attack. You should land in a invisible room (you will also hurt yourself when you land) now try to navigate to the boss door's loading zone. If you go to far to the right, you will fall and fail. I found this on Zelda Speed Runs.

Phantom Ganon can be killed with the hookshot/slingshot, no bow required. There are other places to reach him, the easiest being the north side of the four torch room. It's on YouTube.

I never thought I'd live to see it, but OoT is finally reaching Super Mario 64 levels of brokenness. And my predictions about Child Link beating Ganon came true.

Re: Official NES/SNES/N64 Zelda Glitch Thread

Guys I kid you not, the craziest thing just happened to me in Majora's Mask.

When I started the game, during the cutscene, I had no sword or shield. After the cutscene ends, I die instantly. Then, I start back in the area you can free roam in. I have no health, no sword, no shield, and my inventory is COMPLETELY filled with Ocarinas. Has this ever happened to anyone?

How on Earth did that happen? I also noticed for the <, ^, > items the shade of orange is like that of Ocarina of Time's, not like that of Majora's Mask's. Because in Majora's Mask, it is a shade of yellow.

Were you playing that on your N64 console? Or on a rom or on the Wii?

Cause whoa... I've never seen or heard of that happen before.

This happened on my original Nintendo 64. I have my old files back now. But when I put the game in, my files were gone, and I had to start a new game. But it eventually crashed, and I restarted it. Weirdest thing that's ever happened to me.

OOT glitch in death mountain?

So I've been searching a little online and in the forums to try and see if this has already been answered and I am not getting a real clear answer...

In OOT when you go in the death mountain area there is that red flag on the wooden post..I've seen online that if you play the sun's song near it a red fairy will appear...but as I was replaying OOT recently I went up to it and when I played the sun's song this awful noise started, my game froze, and then a bunch of white circles (they almost looked like normal fairies) started flying across my screen. About 5 seconds later my game crashed.

This definitely freaked me out. So I'm kind of curious to see if this has happened to anyone else before or if my N64 has just recently become possessed. lol

Re: Official NES/SNES/N64 Zelda Glitch Thread

The strange thing is I turned off my system and (get ready, I'm going old school) blew on my game cartridge. I then started my N64 back up and all my data was still there...it just hadn't saved anything since the last time I saved before the "glitch" occurred. I went back up to the flag and tried playing my ocarina again....the first couple times nothing happened but then eventually the game froze and crashed again.

If I play it and avoid this flag/don't attempt to serenade it then my game plays fine. Maybe my cartridge has gotten damaged in one area that affects only that part of the game? (not sure how likely that is though, afterall I am a Finance major...not computer science/engineering haha)

Weirddddddddddd.
