Ocarina of Time vs Majora's Mask: Which is better?

It wasn't as long as OoT, and didn't feel as epic. The game was well made, but the 3 day limit ultimately got annoying. Especially if had to redo some long task.

Absolutely amazing games, but I have to pick MM simply because it has much more replay value.

I feel as if each games had its good and bad. For example.

Ocarina Of Time: Pros: Time traveling was entertaining, the musical compositions, the theme and the mood of the game was very entertaining. Some very suspenseful moments.
Cons: Bosses were too easy to beat, dungeons weren't so developed and the game was pretty straight forward.

Majoras Mask: Pros: More of a theatrical story line, characters had more emotion, things were changing depending on the day of the game, more sidequests to keep you entertained and the dungeons required more strategy.
Cons: More pressure because of the timing system, if you went back in time you had to restart the dungeons you were busy defeating and the game is not long enough to keep you occupied since there are only four dungeons.

All in all I believe that if Nintendo had made a few more developments on Majoras Mask, it could have been a better game but I think nintendo fixed their "straight forward" problem when they released Master Quest. So in the end, I believe that even though they are both truly entertaining, Ocarina of Time was better.

In Majora's Mask we met some of the best characters in Zelda history. Thats why Im sad that almost none of the new characters ever appeared again. I also liked the soundtrack of MM better

Really? I struggled to find pieces I liked, even though I managed to come up with quite a few. That and the ocarina songs felt really sloppy except for Song of Double Time. I mean, seriously? Song of Soaring?! Goron's Lullaby? I almost feel they should have introduced tilted or Z or R notes by now.

I haven't completed MM, but I've played it well enough to judge upon it. I know everything that happens in that game anyways.

I like OoT better, even though they are both very good.

MM had recycled character models, and that bugged me. It felt like that Nintendo was being a little lazy with the design aspect of the game.

I hated the 3 day system in that game. You are constantly on the move, can't just mess around for a little bit. You are on a schedule, you can't do what you want all the time.

I liked OoT's music a little better. There wasn't a whole lot of new music in MM.

OoT is longer! Length!

MM's dungeons I felt weren't as memorable as OoT's.

Final boss of MM was too easy! Hit the mask a couple of times and BOOM! It's over (I played this portion at a friend's house).

Those are my primary reasons of why I think OoT is a bit better, and the best game ever!

Its in an alternate dimension. Its SUPPOSED to have the same models. And Stone Tower Temple is generally considered one of the greatest dungeons in Zelda history. How can you judge the dungeons without even getting through all of them

Yeah, try winning without the Fierce Diety mask.

Count the number of variations of Majora's Mask theme... The woods, the snow area, the bay, and Ikana Canyon? Well that's four already. And those are the ones you hear most often with only the Termina overworld being heard more. NOT counting ocarina songs, you find quite a few reused tracks in areas that weren't seen much in OoT? Finally Stone Tower Temple seems to be the only remembered dungeon in MM, whereas OoT easily had Forest and Spirit Temples as very recognizable. Even Water Temple.

oot owns. no question.
its the best out of all the games.
ive played it since i was little and thinking of the game makes me happier than anything

They used 3 different variations for the Song of Time. Song of Storms was back, Zelda's Lullaby was too, Saria's Song, the song that plays when you enter a house, the song that plays when you're playing a game for rupees or something, Ballad of the Windfish, etc. Maybe there was more new music than I remember but there is a lot recycled too.

Dude, even with the mask, it should be a challenge. It's like; of course you're going to use the mask, it's the final boss! It's epic that way. But no, it's not like that. It's easy! Don't you think the Majora's Mask should be almighty and way more powerful than the other bosses?

Please don't be a know-it-all though, especially when some of it is based on opinion.

"Ballad of the Wind Fish" is a completely remade song. The original notes aren't in there.

I'm not entirely sure about that one. While I'm not about ready to say that's false, what might be best is if we found the original Ballad of the Windfish song and compared it to MM's Ballad to see if it actually is the same or not. :>
