[Majora's Mask]Two merchants that don't make sense

In the southern swamp there is a deku scrub that will sell you magic beans if yor a deku scrub. However when your a deku scrub you can not use magic beans? If a deku scrub can not use a magic bean then why sell me one? What do they do, eat it or something? Also why can't a deku scrub use one, all you have to do is plant it, impossible for a deku to do?

In Clock Town Bomb shop there is a goron who will sell you Powder Kegs.
"Oh! Of all places!

You're a Goron, so you should be
able to carry a Powder Keg,
right?

So, won't ya buy a Powder Keg
for 50 Rupees?"

Ok, if your selling something that only a Goron can carry and your not expecting to see one then why in the world did you set up your shop there? If a Goron can only carry one, how does the merchant have an infinite supply? If these Powder Kegs are supposed to have another purpose then why are you selling them away?

It's just a game.

I always thought it was stupid, that you couldn't use Magic Beans and Deku Nuts as a Deku, since those were obviously Deku items. Also, the Deku Merchant nearby the Goron Village sells Bomb Bags to Gorons, though you can't use normal bombs as a Goron.

The location of the Powder Keg seller, however, was where it is because that way you didn't need to go back to Goron Village, if you wanted to buy one. And don't forget, there's a Goron selling Powder Kegs at the Goron Village as well, the one where you have to pass the Powder Keg test.

The Goron makes sense, since he's in another guy's shop. Clearly he's just traveling with his wares.

I don't understand about the bean-selling Deku Scrub, though.

Maybe the Deku's were supposed to be able to use the magic beans and they forgot to add that little detail to the game.

Regarding the Magic Beans, it may be a scam for money. "Oh, buy this, you'll like it!" A few hours later... "Oh, you can't use it? I'm sorry. No, you don't get your money back." Proceeds to laugh evily once the purchaser is gone.

As for why a goron would sell Powder Kegs to only Gorons in Clock Town, remember the Goron who names himself after Link? Apparently, they do go to Clock Town. It is, however, another issue altogether as to why a Goron would want a bomb for.

Aah, you beat me to it. I was going to bring up the Goron looking for a place to stay in the Inn. Obviously these merchants (Powder Keg-selling Goron, Bomb Bag-selling Deku) make a living off of being hopeful for travelers.

However, as far as game mechanics go, I do believe the Scrub selling Magic Beans to Deku would be a bit of an error. For example, I don't think you can buy Arrows as a Zora at the Trading Post because you can't use a Bow. So the fact that you are sold Magic Beans as a Deku Scrub and cannot use them must be some kind of mistake.

Actually those merchants make lots of sense. It makes you see how people are more willing to give to one of their own. And who knows if dekus can or can't plant beans just because Link can't, he's not a real deku. Other races have thing they can do in the game even that Link can't in those forms. And not every goron wants to carry a powder keg to town just because they MIGHT need it, not to mention that the one in the bomb shop sells the for a cheaper price. And you don't have to runn all the way to the deku Palace's garden to get beans when you need them.
