If OOT were ported on *gasp* Playstation?
Let's just assume that Nintendo and Sony didn't fight when they parted and at least allowed each others games to be ported under an imaginary contract: something like Microsoft/Rareware.
![]() I imagine it would've span two discs. One for Young Link and another for Adult Link. When you lift the Master Sword and does the swirly effects a message would come up asking you to switch discs and to save to your *Memory Card*.I also imagine there would be insane wait times going into towns and buildings and I also imagine a lot more blockiness on the characters or would the graphics have a sharper look as a result of better 3D but more loading times as a sacrifice? I also assume there would've been 'extras' such as a *SoundTest* in the Bombchu Bowling Alley jukebox as a hidden feature and the Zelda songs would be available as you enter the areas the music is played and/or a directors edit video of how it was made? I also imagine they would've made Hyrule Castle accesable inside with it's own sub-quest and the Castle would not look like it's made out of cardboard either. And yes the running man would likely have been beatable. ![]() What are your thoughts on it's contents as a port. and if you are going to say 'no' just cause you hate the word *Playstation* then please hit your back arrow now instead of gripping and trying to be *Holier then Thou*. We don't like that attitude on here. |

I think it sounds good. I mean, half the kingdom hearts series is on nintendo handhelds, so why not the other way around?

Re: If OOT were ported on *gasp* Playstation?
It has nothing to do with the rivalry between Nintendo and Sony. First-party games do not get ported to other consoles. It just doesn't happen. Third-party games see ports all the time because those people just want to sell the software, whereas first-parties want to sell their console. It'd be stupid, from a marketing standpoint, for a first-party to sell rights for their game to another first-party.
What would be the point of a PS2 port, anyway? Better graphics? It's OoT, man. The game is hugely outdated. That's part of its charm. It's retro. Kickin' it oldschool.

Actually, had they liscensed use of their characters to Sony back when they planned an SNES disk drive Sony could have made Zelda games. It's not much of a stretch, considering that's how Philips got the rights to it.
