OOT Game Load Menu

In Ocarina of Time, right before you load your saved game file, there is a 3-digit number (ex. 009) directly above the line of Spiritual Stones/Medallions that you have collected. What does this number represent? Thanks.

Re: OOT Game Load Menu

its how many times you've died, without a fairy to revive you, and continue to play the game.

I heard that if you dont die once, you get to hear your version of the Scarecrow Song after the very end of the credits. Im not sure if that is true however, as I have done just that but still dont hear the Scarecrow Song, even after waiting for an hour, maybe its because im using the collectors edition.

Re: OOT Game Load Menu

As posted before me, it records your number of game overs. I used to think it recorded your rupees for some reason, and was just always way off (sometimes I'd try to end my game with a matching number of rupees).

I've tried this with the gold N64 cartridge and it worked even though I had seen a game over or two on that file. You hear your Scarecrow's Song played in different instruments from the game, one being Malon's voice if I remember correctly. Perhaps you didn't play a song for the scarecrow after you turned on the game to defeat Ganon? Another possibility is you didn't wait long enough; I believe it plays several minutes after the screen freezes... Or maybe it's because you're using the CE.
