Rupees
In OoT, Link has a bag that can originally hold 99 rupees.
Taking this into consideration, red rupees appear the same size as green rupees, yet are worth 20x more. Meaning if Link fits 99 red ones into his pouch, he'd have (99x20) as a value. An error made by Nintendo?I think yes.

Re: Rupees
This applies to all zelda games. Would it make sense to have it hold 99 rupees?
Let's say you max out, then you would get a message saying "would you like to throw away some rupees"? You say yes, and then you get a list of all the different rupees you have. Green, blue, orange, silver, yellow, purple, gold. That would be annoying. Or you need to buy something and you collected a bunch of green rupees so you can't afford that item you want, so you get screwed. |

You're confusing it with the way the wallet really works. |

Re: Rupees
No I'm not lol. But I did the math wrong, should be 18 rupees. But if you pick up a red rupee and you are 97. The rupee somehow splits two rupees off the red one so you can have 99. And mostly I am being sarcastic

Re: Rupees
I find it hilarious when people start questioning one piece of how a game works while blatently ignoring the other rediculous crap. There is no way Link should even be able to hold 99 rupees in a bag in the first place. Look at the size of those things! Imagine if every euro/dollar/pound/etc. you had to carry was the size of your fist.
I remember playing excite trucks at a Nintendo stand at an event (before the launch of the Wii). This is a game where the land suddenly shifts for no reason in front of you creating huge ramps which launch you hundreds of feet into the air and if you fall off a cliff you appear back on the track for no reason. Someone standing behind me then commented on how you shouldn't be able to turn the trucks while in mid-air.

Re: Rupees
Well if you had given it time I'm sure that someone would have posted a thread about that issue too lol. It's just how we are. The first time we play something we ignore the flaws. The more we play it the more things we find that make us go "Wait...what? How is that even possible?!"

Re: Rupees
They may be mostly the same size, but more valuable rupees are so super-dense than they weigh the same as their equivalent in greens. Try to put in more weight than the wallet can hold and it would rip open.
I should have thought that was obvious. There was sarcasm in that post, for those who failed to detect it. |
