Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

I will give it a ten.
I thought it was challenging but I thought it was so much fun. I liked how you had a certain amount of time to save the world.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

I'd give it a solid 8.

For the longest time I could not get into MM, no matter how hard I tried to like it. I tried it again this earlier this year and something about it made me fall in love with the game. The entire Ikana segement was one of, if not THE most most fun I had playing a Zelda game.

I'd talk about the story but anyone who has ever even read a post on here reguarding MM will already know how strange/deep it was. It was a game that fleshed out NPCs'.

That being said, I do have some complaints. The final Boss was WAY too easy. I remember when OoT first came out, one of the main complaints was that Ganondorf was way too easy,so I cannot even begin to imagine how fans took Majora when donning the Fierce Deity Mask. All you really have to to is Z-target and press B numerous times, then you're done.

Another complaint is how absurd it was to find some of the masks. For instance, what wold possibly posess someone to bust out the Lens of Truth near Ikana to find a lone, invisible soldier? maybe I missed something, but it gave absolutely NO hint anywhere in the game about Jiro. This really only goes for a couple of masks, but I had to vent it out.

I know it seems like I'm not too big on MM if you read the last couple paragraphs, but I really enjoyed the game as a whole, and still think it's one of my top 5 games for the N64.

I'd rate it a 9. Could of used another dungeon, and I'd rate it a 10.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

I gave it a 9.
I enjoyed the 3 days time limit that could be reset, but the only thing that takes that 1 point from it is that there's no replay value; once you get FD mask and defeat Majora, the game is done.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

Slightly off topic but a friend of mine once said he knew a kid that beat this game without ever having to turn back time. Is that possible and if so has anybody on this forum done it?

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

I think between a 7 and 8. I know it's considered blasphemy among these parts, but there's a lot that brought the game down for me.

-Almost all dungeons were weak.
-Hated practically every single boss battle (ESPECIALLY Majora)
-Didn't like having to do a billion things to access the next dungeon, and by missing any small thing, you have to start all over again.
-Save sytem was really bad.
-The story might have been relatively original, but it's amazing when replaying it just how many things the game borrows from OoT.

Side quests are great, though. If we rate the game based solely on that, it gets a 10.

The story I guess is fairly original in that it doesn't have Ganon, so if that's your thing, I guess that might be a 10 for you too.

But yeah, it's definitely a good game overall.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

It is one of my favorites, I would have to give it an 9 tho, would have been an 10 if they made the game a bit longer, or fleshed out more on Majora's and Oni Link backstory.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

Majora's Mask was an absolute perfect game. The story is dark and mysterious, just like a Zelda game should be. It's also one of the only Zeldas where you feel emotions for all the NPCs as they face their eventual destruction from the moon. There weren't to many dungeons, but the ridiculous amount of sidequests more than made up for it. Overall, it's my favorite Zelda game.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

It was painful, but I gave it 9 out of 10. Everything was basically flawless in Majora's Mask. Cool bosses, sweet dungeons, endless replay value, brilliant masks, incredible characters, good villain, and depth. The only reason I don't give it a perfect 10 is because one more dungeon would have been nice.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

Majora's Mask is one of my favorite games, and in terms of story, the best Zelda, hands-down. But, anyone who calls it perfect needs a few more games under their belt.

Do you mean Zelda or just games in general?

Games in general.

Probably the biggest factor in a game to me is great story, atmosphere and presentation, and that's why Majora's Mask was great. But, there are games that are better in those departments (though I can't name one that's better than it in all three at once).

On top of that, perfect implies WITHOUT FLAW, and figuring out what you were supposed to do was harder in MM than any other Zelda game, in my opinion.

Re: What would you rate LoZ:MM out of ten?

I put a 10 because the Majora's Mask is the best Zelda game ever. You can use the Song of Time to go backwards in time, and modify it to fast forward time or slow down time, this is also the only game that you can fight your favourite temple boss repeated times, and it doesn't involve just Link for once.

Agreed with this guy about the perfect thing. In fact, I recommend Ōkami as one of those games.

I gave Majora's Mask 8/10. I used to love this game to death, but from playing it again, I found it tedious. The 3-day cycle is easily one of the worst things in video gaming to someone who didn't fall in love with the idea from the start. It still tees me off that you have to constantly talk to the same people who say the same things every day over and over again and every time you reset the cycle, you have to re-find every last rupee and even plant all your Magic Beans again. That's far from a perfect game, and just because you can turn into a Deku, Goron, and Zora doesn't justify it for me. I still think it's cool, but I've enjoyed other Zeldas far more in recent years.

Why would you re find the rupees? Unless you really needed money, that's just pointless. You get rupees, then you either spend them, or put them in the bank. Hardly a flaw.

Edit: It's a 10, by the way.
