I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

Well, I've always wanted to play through OoT, I've played it before on friend's and cousin's systems and it was great, now that I think of it. At the time, I wasn't a Zelda fan and I didn't really like it. Well, since the Wii has a virtual console, I'm thinking about picking it up. It costs $10, but I don't have a controller to play it, so I'd have to pay about another $10 for a controller. So is it worth it to pay $20 for LoZ: OoT? (And a controller)

If I get OoT, I would probably get Majora's Mask after I beat it, so try to refrain from the last option unless you really think I should get Majora's Mask instead of OoT and before OoT, even though I hear MM is a direct sequel to OoT.

Also, can anyone with a 16:9 widescreen TV tell me how the games function on them? Are they letterboxed, stretched, etc.?

In my opinion, it's worth the money. I love the game, and I'm sure you will too when you play through it.

And when you get the money, buy MM after. You won't regret these purchases.

That's my opinion though. (:

Yeah man, go for it. Ocarina of Time may have aged a lot, but look past the polygon visuals and you'll get one heck of a journey.

Re: I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

I'd definitely get the game if I were you since Ocarina of Time is still really good. If you have a GameCube controller lying around, use that instead of a Classic Controller because it feels more like an N64 controller than the Classic. Otherwise, the Classic Controller isn't that expensive when you could also use it for Majora's Mask.

You should get both OoT and MM It's worth it, specially if your N64 is almost dying.

Re: I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

Yes it's worth it. It's liek me paying Ł10 - Ł12 for it but I would recommend getting the hard copy ie buy it for the N64 or Gamecube because you get master quest with the game cube version as well. I recomment getting Majora's mask as well but I would get that game after unless you can afford both as they are both brilliant games.

So do I but the joystick is sensitive, gets annoying at times...

As for OoT, I suggest buying it, it's a great game.

Although, I don't have it myself (because I have in on N64, which still works fine) and also because I have the gold cartrige, and I love the cresent moon/star symbols, and the fire temple music, etc. And don't wanna play it any other way.

Re: I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

If you have a GameCube controller, I'd try to find either the Master Quest or Collector's Edition disc.

If not, it's fine; I'm sure the game plays just as well from the download. After you get it definitely download Majora's Mask as well.

No, please, don't listen to him! The Collector's Edition version of Majora's Mask sucks. It's only worth for Ocarina of Time.

Don't you have a GameCube controller? They work just as well.

But, yeah, go ahead and get the game, I have it, and MM.

Is it just me, or do you say that EVERY SINGLE TIME anyone even as much as mentions getting old games?

anyway

Neo really got it. The game's amazing, you shouldn't let it get past you. And then get Majora's Mask, it's easily among the best, anyway.

Re: I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

The only downside with getting OoT for the VC is the space it takes. OoT and MM are both must-haves for any Zelda fan with a Wii, however.

Re: I'm thinking about getting OoT on the Virtual Console..

I'm not cheap enough to emulate it. I'd rather pay for it.

And yeah, I know you can play it with the GC controller, but I don't have any GC controllers, so either way I have to buy one (GC or Classic).

And yeah I would def. get Majora's Mask after.

I've looked into the collectors edition for the gamecube, but I don't really want to pay for it just for MM and OoT, and I'd have to get another controller, so consider the idea shot down.

Thanks for your votes and replies, keep 'em coming
