Exclamation 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

OK I was really proud of myself so I wanted to post this.
I just finished the three heart challenge in Ocarina of Time with only 39 deaths! Hooray!
Next I'm Doing a Three Heart Challenge in Majora's Mask. Hopefully I'll have that done soon.
But the real reason for this post is, as the title suggests, to pose a new challenge!
I was thinking (and am planning on doing) a Three Heart Challenge of Ocarina of Tine with no registered deaths.
Basically, If I happen to die, I have to shut off my console and start back up from where I last saved.
If anyone else wants to try this too that would be cool.
Happy Hyrule Saving,
One Free Kokiri

Uh...disregarding that last comment, CONGRATS! I don't think I could ever do that! MM would be near impossible, but good luck anyways! I might try it on TP...

Oh yeah, and WELCOME TO ZU!!

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

i have beat all the 3D zelda's with 3 hearts. including PH. I acctually think the hardest were WW and MM because the end bosses deal a lot of damage. (and i didn't have the magic shield on WW)

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

Trying to keep this topic in check and on-topic as such

I've never attempted a 3 heart challenge, but i do take my hat off to those to complete a game/games with only 3 hearts, being some of the titles can get tricky especially in Majoras Mask and Ocarina of Time (Water Temple for example). Wind Waker's end boss is hard enough with a lot of hearts, let alone 3.

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

I've completed these Zelda games with only three hearts:

Ocarina of Time - The first I tried. decently hard. I mostly had problems with enemies that did a lot of damage. An accidental hit from Phantom Ganon (2) or an Iron Knuckle (4!) and it's all over. I also avoided the fairy upgrade at the end, so no damage resistance there.

Wind Waker - Disappointingly easy. Most enemies, including bosses, only do 1/2 of a heart of damage; and it's not that hard to avoid damage in the first place. Main problem: Gang of Darknuts or Moblins, Ganondorf. Ganondorf is actually pretty easy if you go all-out on him. He will be too busy blocking to do much. Then you take all Parry chances you get.

The Legend of Zelda (original) - OK, this one was just brutal. Let me just leave it at that. I had to get the Blue Ring as fast as possible, and that is even after learning how to avoid most enemies. Darn Wizrobes.

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

3 heart challenges are for pussies.

Real men do it with 3 hearts, without Z-targeting, AND no capacity upgrades (Bombs, Quiver, etc.).

Not completely. I only attempted recently while replaying OOT for the umpteenth time.I was able to get past the first dungeon of OOT, but lately other games (I'm looking at you, Team Fortress 2) have been eating up all of my time.

Still was exhilarating though.

Not far then, keep it up if Team Fortress doesn't get in the way.

I did get up to Dungeon 3 (Jabu Jabu) with only 3 hearts before realising i ought to have collected them, then had to do the game again to get the hearts.

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

There's a pretty good challenge done by Manocheese on GameFAQs. It is the Uber Challenge and he came up with it.

Go to the FAQs page for OoT on GameFAQs, scroll down and you'll find it as Uber Challenge Guide.

Like I said, it's a pretty good idea for a challenge, as it is a pure minimalist run.

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

Everytime I try to do the 3 heart challenge I always accidentally pick up the heart piece at the end of the deku tree and then I save it. One of these days I am going to try again and try not to get the damn heart piece again. Anyways congrats man and when I do the challenge I am going not going to die once or I will start over the entire game.

Real men doing the three heart challenge in MM do it all without saving or even quicksaving.

I did the OOT 3 heart challenge with 0 saved deaths, and not using any shields
(except the mirror for the light) to have no shield just equip the Hylian and let a

Re: 3-Heart Challenge, the next level

Um a good three heart challenge albeit almost impossible is a Low% run without anything except the medallions and spirtual stones bombs, swords and bombchu's and slingshot ......and you have to beat every trial and dungeon but skip the treasures except for two....
